I really can not sugar coat it. This is a terrible trade. Did Mickey not even try to work a phone? 31 other teams and no one had any interest? Hoomanawanui was the best offer on the table?

This may not be about hicks
I really think they want to give someone like tyeler davidson some snaps. This removes a roadblock for that and hicks might have been on his way to being benched with his play.
We need something in the middle and Hicks has given us next to nothing lately.

Yea sean is just cutting it off here with some compensation. Has anyone discussed Hoomanawanui's contract? How much is he making? Are we saving money by trading Hicks for him? There's no way we used the Brees cap space here right?

Both of these players are at the end of their contracts.
Why the Saints couldn't wait until the end of the year to let go of Hicks, I have no idea.
