I would think cancer treatment probably ends your career. I would think it would be very difficult to bounce back from medications/treatment that wreck your body.
NFL players are in unbelievable shape. You don’t just jump back to it.

Every person and case is different but Eric Berry and James Conner were both diagnosed in December and back to playing by the start of the next season.

So reading more about the Trautman deal. He asked for a trade bc he wasn’t getting enough opportunities to catch passes. His preferred options were Denver and Detroit bc of Payton and Campbell. Detroit drafted LaPorta so that pretty much took them out of it. However, Denver has two better pass catching tight ends on the roster already with Dulcich and Albert O.
