All right, so PFF isn't a fan of this guy.

Anybody have any other websites that can offer an opinion?
Football outsiders,etc?

I know I've seen people around the league say he is one of the best young fullbacks.

But just as PFF may or may not be right on him, same goes for these people.

In short, we'll find out how good he is here once the season starts. The Saints liked him enough to take him ahead of Collins(for 4 years at that), because I doubt Collins asking price would be much different.

The #19 ranked FB that was moved away from TE doesn't at all take leverage away from the #1 ranked TE.

Why you say that?

I say that b/c to me your logic makes no sense. If I said Drew Brees should take a pay cut b/c we have Ryan Griffin already signed, does that make any sense? That's the same logic. Please explain what I'm missing and how his signing gives us leverage.

Also explain how any player signing can affect "leverage" in a contract negotiation between a team that wants a player and the top player at his position after we've already said he'll be the highest paid TE in the league after this deal.

I don't know if his run blocking is great or not.

But I feel like Payton hired this guy because he used to be a TE and can catch a ball.
You know how he loves the spread the ball around.

a Pulp Fiction line comes to mind..

"Zed's dead bay, Zed's dead."
Jed's dead baby, Jed's dead

the Lorig file: if dlP returns I think the Saints would be the only team with two Jewish players

I didn't hear about him visiting the Lions until after the signing, and it was reported that Lorig visited last week.

More importantly, FB's don't fetch much money, so even if Jed would call for more money, the difference would probably be negligible.
