LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Clark County grand jury has indicted Alvin Kamara and three others for an alleged beating at a Las Vegas nightclub last year.
Kamara, a running back for the New Orleans Saints, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chris Lammons and two other men face criminal charges connected to the incident outside of a Strip nightclub on Feb. 5, 2022, during the NFL Pro Bowl weekend.

RB at the top of the Draft needs

Extremely disappointing that someone that has been a model player on and off the field his entire career would get wrapped up in this.

Is there an out in the contract for something like this?

Not necessarily, Athletes have a habit of escaping the consequences that you or I would face in the same situation. But impending suspension is guaranteed.

Get wrapped up in it by initiating the whole thing and chasing him down a hall and striking him, bragging that he connected with his jaw so hard?
Wasn’t his fault though huh. Just wrong place, wrong time?

Kamara probably suspended, Thomas inevitably missing most of the season for (insert reason here).
Blessing in disguise for us to get a top 5 pick next year along with a new head coach.

Kamara's lawyer kept requesting continuances and never settled with the victim. The courts were eventually going to circumvent this.

Rb was always going to be a big priority for them. They need to find a vet on a reasonable deal and find 2 rookies. One needs to be a between the tackles guy. Luckily there are lots of good RB prospects in this draft beyond the top 2 of Robinson and Gibbs. I love Tyjae Spears and would take him in a heartbeat in the mid rounds, same with Achane, but you need someone like Zach Charbonnet or Tank Bigsby that can handle 20 carries a game. Letting Latavius Murray go might have been the worst move the Saints made past year. He was head and shoulders better than Ingram.

Hope he can pickup trash better than he scored last year.

This is an extremely deep RB draft…. Take one in the 3rd and cut kamara and that contract
Posted on 2/16/23 at 3:20 pm to Lsujacket66
Does it clear any money to cut him?
Posted on 2/16/23 at 3:21 pm to tigersquad89
He’ll get probation or a suspended sentence. But Goodell will probably suspend him once the case is done.

At least we got the 2022 season, amirite?

It'll save $662k, unless there is a personal conduct clause, and the team can void the contact and recover the paid bonus money. And I think they have to recover the money to get the cap relief.
Or, you could restructure his contract and turn his 2023 salary into the vet minimum and give him a $7M bonus to be prorated over 5 years. Then he loses basically nothing during the inevitable 4-8 weeks suspension, and you save $7M against the cap.
Of course your screwed in a few years when it's time for a new contract and you have to pay him a new bonus while taking the hit for kicking the can
