The New Orleans Saints have released veteran wide receiver Brandon Coleman with a failed physical designation, a league source told The Advocate on Sunday.

Coleman, who suffered a neck injury in the playoffs last season, opened the season on the physically unable to perform list, and although he had been spotted on the sidelines working with trainers, the Saints apparently decided to release him.

Saints also waived-injured G John Fullington, per @FieldYates. Too bad for Fullington, who was off to promising start this summer — spending a lot of time with the 1s as a replacement for Andrus Peat. Saints Re-signed former LSU S Rickey Jefferson.

The Saints have also re-signed veteran TE John Phillips, per source.

Thanks for the service!

Never shook out with the saints, but I’m sure he could catch on with another team if he gets cleared medically.

Best of luck!

Wrong. The problem with him was he didn't play up to his height. Trequan made him expendable.

We know who the 3 deep is at safety.

After them the position is kind of open. Banjo is a solid ST'er but may not offer much for Defensive sets.

Moore and Natrell could be underwhelming.

I dont know if Jefferson has enough to offer either but it cant hurt.

The bigger news here is what no one is talking about. They signed Philips and Watson has been injured and away from the team for a week. Not a great sign

I think Hooman got hurt recently. I think the signing is more in regards to him.

Dude had 3 Years Here to Catch On.
Like everyone says, Never played to his size.
He should make it to another team.
