Dude has Velcro on his hands now. I guess we will have to wait until the playoffs when he starts dropping passes and carrying it like a loaf of bread…tremendously talented but dumb as a pile of bricks

yes, I love having almost 0 talent running routes for us.

But I miss Sanders way more than I miss Cook

Dude had some great moments with us too, unfortunately his last moment was his worst and everyone will act like he did nothing with us

Agreed!

If had some games where he appeared to be All-Pro for the Saints. Then he would have games where he'd drop passes that hit him in the hands. But, his biggest issue his entire times with the team was he would run with the ball away from his body. If he gets that corrected, he has the ability to be a top tier TE

He’s 34 years old so I highly doubt he’s going to improve much at all. I agree he’s always had the talent to be a great TE but he’s never been able to fully put it together (while being healthy) outside like 2 seasons with the Raiders.

All of his mistakes seemed to come in huge game changing moments for the Saints... that's talent you can't teach!

You think he is all of a sudden going to get that corrected?

We had a rough offseason- let’s face it
We lost Cook and Murray. Those two guys alone we are at least 3-1

It's definitely a "what have you done for me lately?" attitude NFL fans have. Fred Thomas is a great example. That dude was an excellent CB until he just got old and lost it. Then many fans on this page just acted like he was our worst CB ever. It's like his positive career never existed here. Hell, some people treat Brees the same way.

Cooks suffered multiple concussions with the Saints.

I remember him going off in a game and the other team appeared to take him out.

He seemed adverse to getting hit for the rest of his stay with the Saints.

Maybe a concussion issue has resolved itself and he has found new life.

Even going back to his college days at South Carolina. They had a chance to pull off a big upset against #2 Auburn back in 06 but Cook dropped a surefire TD in the endzone in the final seconds which would have tied it or given them a chance to go for 2 and win.

At the end of the day you if you can be an active NFL player that contributes for this long you certainly aren't a horrible player. And he's made catches like these while he was with us too and had some nice games, this shouldn't be that surprising. But I can almost guarantee there's going to be a game or two where he costs the Chargers this year.
