Yep, pretty much. Also I know it's risky but let's say something falls in your lap. Some mock drafts have Gurley there in the second round. You snatch him up with what will be a cheap rookie contract. You ride him till Drew is done. The you dump him because you will be in rebuilding mode at that point anyway.

He had more than 3 good games last year. How some of you people continue to relentlessly bash ingram is beyond me.

You complain about ingram being hurt and talk about drafting gurley? Makes sense.

People on here stating/implying his production last year was better because it was a "contract" year are ignorant imo. To think that a running back in the ultra-competive "what have you done for me lately" NFL can simply turn it on so to speak because his contract his coming up is ridiculous. I just hope he can stay healthy.

I said it was risky. If he is healthy, why not? Way more up side. Ingram is a bum.

Okay, how about this.
Take Murray's contract average and if this is 2/3 or less, then its worth it.
Compare it to current RBs:
1. Peterson 14.38mil
2. Lynch 12.0mil
3. Charles 9.05mil
4. McCoy 9.0mil
5. Foster 8.7mil
6. Forte 7.6mil
7. Stewart 7.3mil
8. Richardson 5.122mil
9. Ingram 4.0mil
T-10. Gerhart 3.5mil
T-10. Brown 3.5mil
T-10. Sproles 3.5mil
just a fyi

You want a guy who has had 2 major knee surgeries while in college?

We'll take care of that, but it will be neither of those.

I think Murray will top 6/per pretty easily

Reading that last makes me thankful we don't have Trent Richardson. Dunno what happened to him.

Also, Ingram is making Toby Gerhardt money. People need to stop bitching.
I don't see how this deal hamstrings us in FA in any way. So many moves left to be made.

On money for a CB, we were projected to have anywhere between $10-20 mil in cap space depending on what rumored moves come to fruition.
So even if Ingram is a flat $4 mil each year(very unlikely; Loomis always does the smart thing and back loads so the player never sees the big money) we can easily structure a contract for a top shelf corner, depending on what else we want to get.

Honestly, people want to complain, but that was the most we were willing to pay (considering the fact that we don't run too much). That is a solid number for us and for him. Not too killer, 4mil/yr

Murray is probably going to get $8 mil per.
