Personally I love this kid. Ton of confidence and every single physical tool.

I just don't think we have the ammo to go get him

I have no problem getting drafting Pickett. We should be in the business of drafting QBs for the next couple of years, until we hit on one.

It wouldn’t be a terrible idea to re-sign jameis for a one or 2 year deal friendly deal and draft a QB and let them compete/let the rookie develop for a year or 2 before taking over.

A busy week ahead for the NFL draft process, as 4 of the top QBs have their Pro Day:

Monday: Kenny Pickett, Pitt
Tuesday: Malik Willis, Liberty
Wednesday: Matt Corral, Ole Miss
Thursday: Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati

I reckon we will be at all of these

Pickett or Corral. Ridder and Willis just look too boom or bust to me. I love the dog Corral has in him.

According to radio jameis is looking for $35 Mil/yr. Laughable as the pundits correctly pointed out.

Saints may have to burn the first on rookie and trot them out there day 1. Maybe that's Pickett if he falls.

Ideally they can fill the gap this year with somebody and try and position themselves toward top of the draft next year for QB

Don't care as long as he can make the throws, which he can

There's no way he thinks he's getting that.

No one will pay him that but that's what his "camp" is supposedly floating

If this is true, use a 3rd on baker or a 2nd on jimmy g

Pickett spent 5 years in college, and wasn’t good until his 5th year. He is a boom or bust

Not enough people are talking about Ridder. He is what people think Corral/Pickett are on the ground, and what Willis and pickett are tossing it around the yard. He’s got the size athleticism and arm and ultimately holds the most upside

If Jameis wants 35 million, just trade a 3rd for Baker and be done with it.

I'm not a fan of taking any QBs in this draft, but I also think Allen would be foolish to not attend the ProDay for any QB expected to have 1st round grades. He needs to turn over every stone until he is certain he has his guy, whether it's in '22, '23, '24...

It should also be stated that he could have picked up Payton's trait of wanting to meet with every QB with a 1st round grade. Even if you do not plan to draft them, you should still interview them because you could have to face them some time in the future

Good for him ; although, it will suck when he's now having to settle for signing somewhere as a back-up

As they should, $35M makes him the 7th highest paid QB.

Crazy stat is Taysom's contract is the tied for 16th at $10M a year. Not saying he should be that low, just a crazy stat

If I had to guess, I could see Winston landing in the $20-25M range (would be the new 16th highest as no one is between $25M Brady & $10M Hill/Fitz)

This is laughable. Desmond Ridder is a one read Qb. Much like most Qbs that depend on their athleticism to play the position. He will not be in the league in 5 years. Unless it’s as a backup Qb. I watched almost every Cincy game the last 3
Years. He is not what you’re thinking he is. Malik Willis performed better against better competition and with less. There isn’t a single franchise Qb in this draft. Corral or Willis are the only ones that I think that have a shot at being solid starters.

He’s insane if he thinks he’s getting 35 mil coming off an injury and not even playing half a season.

I agree but I see the argument....Kirk Cousins is getting 35...is Kirk that much better than Jameis? I'm not so sure
