Dropping to 25 is a huge difference in talent availability. You can get a legit game changer at 11 in this draft.

ya, I did all that calculating but simplest is all this year...

#25 720
#57 330
#89 145
#131 41
#169 24

equals 1260

#25 to #11 is a long jump

Drop 14 spots and all I get this year is a 3rd? No way.

any QB in this draft is not worth #11 to us so I don't know why you think saying Trubisky on the board should mean anything to us at all.
It means a lot because the 2 teams drafting behind us at #12/#13 will be eyeing QB. That means any QB avail at #11 could be enticing for a team not drafting #11 to want to trade for #11 to be able to draft that QB.

I'd be fine with trading back to #25 for Texans 57 and 89 this year. That's 1195 v 1250, which is close enough for me.

- #25 isn't too far back to trade IMO. Lots of guys we can target at #25, including one of the CBs - White, Conley, LB - Cunningham, DE - Taco, Watt, Lawson, etc
- #57 and #89 are solid additional picks in this deep draft.

Then we can package 25 and 32 to get back up to the 13 range

Not even close to correct value. It would have to be at minimum 25, their second, and their third this year.

And I see this was addressed. Good to see my ballpark guess was in the ballpark though.

You have to discount the future picks. For example, a future 2nd round pick is worth a 3rd round pick this year. Bobby Bethard was famous for trading next year's 1st straight up for a 2nd today.

Also, the draft point chart is outdated by today's standards. Moving from 25 to 11 would cost a 1, 2, and a future 1 AT LEAST. The Saints in 2005 traded a 3rd to move up two spots to draft Jammal Brown. TWO SPOTS, and that was 12 years ago. If I'm trading up 14 spots, especially to draft a QB, that price is borderline prohibitive.

Let me get this straight. You want to trade the Saints 11th pick to the Texans for their 25th pick in the 1st, their 2nd rounder and 3rd rounder. Then give up both 1st rounders to move back to 13? Nah man, no way I do that.

Not particularly close to the necessary compensation.
