Davenport makes way to much sense for us to trade. I would highly expect for him to be part of the trade. It is a position that we have depth in and he is on his fifth year of his contract. Will be challenging to retain. The fact that we haven’t tried to extend him to bring down his cap hit should tell you something alone. Not to mention we invested in another first into the position last year.

It makes sense to trade because he is a good player.
Him not having a new contract doesn't mean anything. He is going to ask for more than he is making on his 5th year option.
They drafted another de cause cam is getting older and davenpirt would miss games. Hendrickson also left.
They didn't even extend ram before his 5th yr option.

Wilson is more accomplished and went for less.
Cause that's how the qb position works.
Watson is worth way more than Wilson. He is 26 years old. Elite 26 year old qbs don't come on the market.
If they do they fetch 3 firsts and players. 5 or 6 assets.

No way this CBS trade happens. That's stealing from the Texans if so

Doesn’t really matter honestly, pretty much screwing the team for the foreseeable future depending on if he comes and what you give up.
For years everyone has bragged about us always having a great offensive line. We'll if you give up almost half of it to get a franchise quarterback who will then probably be one of the most sacked. But let's play the "we can find offensive lineman any where in the draft, look at our history of drafting " well thats a little different now that you're giving up all these picks when we do have and will have other needs than lineman. And before anyone says "well Michael Thomas was a 2nd round pick" we had a first before Thomas and will still only have 1 second and no first if these trade scenarios come to fruition, keep in mind the nfl isn't gifting us another 2nd just because we traded our first.
Then if the trade doesn't happen, who do you think jameis will be more likely to sign with? Someone offering him more money and a starting gig or the team that he took less money for two years to learn their system and get substituted for a glorified h-back anytime he was getting in a rhythm because his offensive genius coach, who just quit on his team, had a bright idea that ended with worse field position or a turnover? And that team was trying to trade everything for his replacement?

You won't have to give up half the o line. It would probably be 1 offensive lineman and 1 defensive.
They will use a draft pick of o-line no matter what. They would just have to sign someone for a year.
It's the price you pay to get an elite 26 year old qb damn.

Seeing a few different tweets from random people claiming to know the Saints offer and all freaking out calling it outrageous. It’s random Twitter accounts so probably BS.

Outrageous in whose favor?

But you have to have pieces around him to keep him complete.
What was the majorities response to why Taysom, not in the same ballpark as Watson, was so bad? No recievers.
It doesn't take that to get one, you can draft them if you have a coach who isn't more concerned with nailing cheerleaders, cheating on his wife, giving away some ridiculous contracts away, giving up 2 1st for a d lineman that you're now trying to include in a trade with 3 1st to get said quaterback.

The saints always wildly overpay in trades imo

My mistake that was Haslett nailing cheerleaders

They are making up some new scout teams to go around to the beer plants and hope we find a shite load of Michael Lewis's

A smart person is saying 4 picks (3 firsts) and a player (Ruiz)
Posted on 3/14/22 at 8:12 pm to hendersonshands
That’s exactly what a guy I know said. He said he has sauces but he’s been wrong before
Posted on 3/14/22 at 8:13 pm to hendersonshands
Oh boy…I hope that’s the deal
Posted on 3/14/22 at 8:19 pm to hendersonshands
Let's say that is the deal. Would losing Williams and roby be enough space to make it work?
Posted on 3/14/22 at 8:24 pm to msstate7
I don’t think they’re worried about the cap at all
