That chart illustrates what we know about him, a talented guy that cannot be consistent.

or a dude that was raw as heck that transferred positions playing a new spot and seemed to find success often during the season.

you can throw that gb game in the trash, don't even care whatsoever about it.

Even if we want to be generous and say any score above 50 is good and below 50 is bad...

That's 8 bad performances (some of them atrociously bad) and 90 "good" performances (several of which are mediocre at best in reality)

That is a picture of inconsistency

For an Olineman, 60 is generally a decent score from what I have seen. 80+ is a really good game.

40-50 is subpar but not terrible. Once you dip below the 40s is where you are having a really bad game.

Sure.

but you hyperbolized it by saying he cannot be consistent. future tense.

he may not end up being consistent.

he could be more consistent.

he could keep getting better.

there's lots of coulds in the realm of possibility when discussing the future of Penning.

You stated a certainty. That was my issue.

Bunchie, you seem reasonable here. What do you deduce from this?

His 2023 pass block grade was 60.8
His 2024 pass block grade was 51.6

2023 pressure rate allowed was 4.5%
2024 pressure rate allowed was 5%

Well damn. That is certainly not what I want to see from an objective numbers perspective. It shows someone that actually did not do very well at RT.

My eyes told me something different but eyes can lie

The glimmer of hope for Penning at tackle

The Eagles took a 6’8” 365 lb rugby player and turned him into a premier LT. Pass blocking grades by year 67.8, 83.3, 72.5, 83.2, 91.7. Guy never played football in his life prior to coming stateside.

The numbers on Penning don't tell the full story because he played so little in 2023 vs 2024.

You know what…. we need linemen but if Offensive Playmakers (RB, WR, TE) appear when our picks turn up…..

Draft those difference makers.

We can get linemen next year…as Rome wasn’t built in a day and we will need at least 3 quality drafts to rebuild this team !!

God, I hope they aren't trying to sell themselves on Nick Saldiveri as a starting guard again.

After combing a few top 100 lists for the draft, there’s 6-8 guards scattered throughout. It’s a guard heavy draft compared to tackle. We have five picks in the top 112. One would hope we come away with one of these guys.

It appears to me this draft is loaded with guards and DT’s. We should be drafting one of each by the 4th round.
