If Campbell is there at 9 it would be tough for me not to take him and then just see how he fits into the OL group. Maybe he plays LG or maybe Fuaga kicks inside. The only player I wouldn’t move is McCoy because he’s such a great center that his talent would be wasted at guard. I see Saahdiq Charles just came out of retirement and he has been a quality starter at LG in the NFL. If nothing else he would probably be cheap and he would give you more flexibility in the draft.

Penning played well at RT, he was raw

Played well in the sense that he stayed healthy and wasn’t a liability in the run game. Near league worse in sacks allowed and penalties with 18 total. You’ll be better off upgrading him and using him as depth. Still would have a big role

Played well? Definition please.
Raw?
2nd year. 1st rounder. Sucked at LT.

Seems to me more post from the the FO than regular fans these days.

Olave is his next concussion away from shutting down football, you are being generous there. An admission he’s a WR2 at best shows another wasted draft pick and horrible trade for what we gave up. Why you guys continue to believe in Loomis is baffling.

“You guys?”

I’ve been bashing the guy for years man.

I don’t disagree at all. I’m agreeing that we don’t have a ton of top end talent dude. Maybe learn to comprehend what you’re reading a tad. And I realize that Olave’s days are likely numbered. But he’s talented enough that he would be starting for 25 teams in the league. Which was the post I was responding too.

Right. He’s in year 3, you’ll have to make a decision on him sooner than later. Kellen Moore is going to go from Lane Johnson to Penning

Let’s look for another bookend and have stability at tackle for the next decade

I think the idea with Becton was that one of our tackles would move inside. IMO Fuaga is better built for guard anyway with his short arms

Same for Will Campbell, who I'd love to get at 9 to play guard

I wouldn't even be mad if they took Booker at #9.

I think they will go OL or DL but just what if they went with a higher graded player at a different position for once.

and no, I'm talking about a WR or RB.

I'm thinking defense as well.

The wheels fell off that unit last year but in large part because there was no offense because guys kept getting hurt. The defense stayed on the field too long, and it wasn't pretty.

the D-line class is super stacked so I don't know if you need to use one at #9 unless their board says otherwise. And for God sake, lay off the RAS scores! Let a player's tape do the talking.

Trevor Penning PFF run blocking grade is easily in the territory of playing well as a first year starting at right tackle.

Ya’ll forget he has been hurt/dinged his first year also.

P.S. Km runs a shotgun offense tailor made for power run blocking.

Is this a matt Canada joke?

No, I'm being serious.

Maybe I'm misinformed.

Lol. Word.

Very little before KM, but when he got to the Eagles they started motioning alot. We will see players in motion frequently.

So yeah had the same problem we had that Kubiak fixed, running more motion etc.

The Saints did not in 2023 until
kubiak came in 2024 and we did.

Same for the Eagles, with KM.

Maybe that is a problem.

The Bengals had no toughness running the ball.

Burrow played excellent and it still wasn't enough. They had no balance.

The Eagles have a stud RB and dual threat QB, so KM's offense hummed. They had bad mother frickers on that O-line, They hardly passed even with AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, and Goedert at their disposal.

I’d much rather a safer pick like him that I think is highly likely to work out than a guy like McMillan who I think could end up being very one dimensional.

We’re not weak at qb. We’re average at qb. Unfortunately, that’s basically a zero in the modern NFL. When’s the last time a team won the superbowl with a qb outside of the top 10 in the league? Maybe the Eagles with their backup?

The best guy left is Teven Jenkins, who has played LT and LG. But he is set to meet with the Seahawks soon.

He has played right tackle and right guard in the nfl.

There are a couple of lower level guys left. Also bring Lucas Patrick back as depth.

Yeah, played well, showed significant progress. Had flashes of very good pass blocking then signs of being lost. He’s played 3 positions here, looks to have found a home, why not try and continue coaching him up? This obsession to move fuaga off Lt who played incredibly well is just asinine. Want to find a RT? Sure if someone too good to pass up falls then take him. LG is way more of an issue than RT is by far.
