I have no idea why the Saints have a love fest for Ohio State players and never draft players from instate schools. They can scout and watch them anytime and have passed on great players instate to go with OSU players. Aggravates me because I think OSU is seriously overrated!

In state players have a lot of tPOS in them and if you keep them in their natural environment the potential for major problems can arise which is risky especially for higher draft picks. We’ve seen with Marshmallow and his gang banging when he returned to Ohio in the off-season. Now imagine that but during the season.

Name a bust we took from Ohio State. You don't have to like the school, but you can't deny they churn out great NFL players

Maybe because every player they have drafted from Ohio State has perform at or better than expectations? Ohio State get the cream of the top talent from across the country and the ones that have good success at Ohio State have a very high potential to have success in the NFL.

You should be embarrassed if you're older than 25.

It was 100% Sean Payton. He even admitted a couple of times that he hated how many Saints fans always asked him "why don't you draft ____ from LSU?", and clearly implied that he enjoyed continuing to frustrate them.

Same reaction and energy he had with the "worry about your meat" kid at Whole Foods. Sean is one of the most spiteful people on the planet.

What a coincidence that the second he's gone we immediately kick the tires on both @God_Son80 and @Mathieu_Era

CSP didn't do it out of spite. He did it bc he liked another player more. He just got annoyed being asked the same question over & over, bc he was surrounded by a lot of LSU fans.

You have problems if you think CSP was purposely not drafting LSU players.

CSP drafted Al Woods & Will Clapp, traded for Kwon Alexander, & signed some udfa's from LSU. He was always at LSU's Pro Day.

Local homer Bengals fans are probably saying that the Bengals hate Ohio State players & love LSU players.

The mature Bengals fans probably laugh at them, bc it's just how the draft unfolded for them. Then the homer fans get pissed off and downvote them.

Sound familiar?

that’s because year after year they pass on LSU players. As an LSU and Saints fan it frustrates me!

I'm a huge LSU fan, lived in Tiger stadium (literally, my freshman dorm was West Stadium in the fall of 1980), season ticket holder, a son who graduated from there, a daughter about to finish her Junior year and it irritates me how Tiger fans go on about this. No coach worth anything would purposefully avoid good players because of where they went to school. It's always been about need, fit, cost, and availability.

Good post. I wish more LSU fans would think like this.

It's so annoying having to hear this shite EVERY DAMN YEAR.

Someone ran the numbers two-three years ago and the Saints rate of drafting in state players is in line with other teams. The Saints drafting Ohio St players is likely just a coincidence.
