I don't know these physicians and I don't like Ochsner. However, we don't have the whole story to conclude that the they erred in the diagnosis. How do we know that the original films revealed a fracture? Didn't a radiologist also read it at the time? Is the physician providing the second opinion actually alleging that a misdiagnosis occurred? I doubt it. If the Saints are alleging this, it doesn't mean shite to me.

This is FAR from the first misdiagnosis of a player and it all seems to stem from that one dude (other guy was just collateral damage and stayed on the Pelicans staff).
This guy has been fricking up for years and setting players back in their rehab and causing them to get reinjured/making their injuries worse.

People need to quit putting blame on the radiologist. He reads em as soon as he gets the film. Also, more than likely reads 100s a day of all different types. MRI, CT, radiologic films etc...
He puts out what he thinks and then it's the ortho's job to re-read the X-rays,
MRI and ultimately determine the dx and tx of the patient. If they can't figure it out they usually pull other orthos in, not go back to the radiologist.
If they missed it, since it's been a while the second opinion more than likely saw evidence of healing and thus saw a fx.
I'm no ortho, but I got 6yrs in an ortho trauma unit/clinic FWIW. In my time spent looking at X-rays, MRIs etc with ortho's and treating said injuries I can't recall a fx being misdiagnosed as a bruise

I don't know the numbers, but I'd bet it's near statistically impossible to misdiagnose a fractured as a bruise.

In fairness, James Woods was a good doctor. He was just under orders from Cameron Diaz to get the Shark back on the field.

quote:You are obviously not a season-ticket holder. Benson doesn't do anything he can't make the fans pay for.
Benson, could, in theory, get ahead of the curve of other teams (and in fact some teams are doing this), and build a full fledged Sports Medicine center on the Pels/Saints Campus, strictly dedicated to the two teams.
It would have its own MRI machines, training equipment, rehab center, and a staff of handpicked doctors dedicated to the teams.

Had talked to an ortho family friend earlier today, surprised me that orthopedics don't always get radiology to read plain film.
Some that look questionable with a weird h&p (similar to Breaux's) they'd send out. While clear cut ones they won't waste the time and resources.

I believe it's pretty common to not see a small fracture especially right after the injury with swelling. Also think Payton said as much.
Don't think he was happy with how it was handled for the following 2 weeks.

Suri repaired my distal biceps rupture. Everything went well, but it was easy to diagnose. My tendon was rolling up my arm like a balloon losing air.

what guy are you referring to?
Posted on 8/17/17 at 8:23 am to redneck
It's easy. Sometimes you don't see the fracture but when you reimage the bone 5-7 days latter you see the callus formation. Don't be so quick to hate. Go to med school.

The orthopedist that was fired need his or her license taken away. There have been to many missed evaluations from free agents to our own players or two when he years. This doctor has cost the Saints millions and millions of dollars. Is this the same orthopedist for the pelicans to

It's pretty easy to spot people who talk out of their arse on the internet.
