Everybody is tired of this but if your team was to receive punishments for a scandal where no evidence has been shown then wouldnt you want something whether it being tarnishing Goodells name or the other highly unlikely shot that this makes it to court..

Would I personally? Absolutely not. Especially if my name were to get leaked as one of the idiots trying to sue.

Now, if I were a football player receiving the punishment - then maybe... but the longer this goes on, the more it looks like a group of babies are spearheading your fanbase. Or at the very least, it looks like blame of the Saints record is trying to be pinned on Goodell rather than that 8th grade D that I've been seeing.

Meh.

Of course Falcons fans wouldn't get upset over something like this...I don't even think there are enough to get a class action suit together

and this effects what?

As to the blame; I'd say it's about 40RG/60Saints. There's absolutely, positively, indeterminately no way in hell we'd be sitting with same record with SP.

The end game is this is entertaining t me and I could care less what other groups of fans already predisposed to disparage our fan base think.

ETA: There's got to be some type of consumer protection against substantial changes in an entertainment based function. If I paid for tickets to the RHCP concert and someone came and said that 2 of the band members and the sound mechanic were replaced by people who have never done it before; I would like to believe I would be entitled to a refund.

I'm not saying that's a equivalent comparison 100% but it's enough to lead to the usual judicial bullshite process that hinders this nation to begin with.

they lost millions because of goodell's claims and filed the lawsuits long before the Saints lost a game. You think if the Saints would've won games that Vilma would have told the NFL to keep the money he is owed?

Also, you're an idiot if you don't think losing Payton has impacted the Saints. You've posted that exact same bullshite before, but never came back after it

I think the avenue they should go revolves around the timing of the suspensions. The NFL waited until after we paid full price for our season tix before they lowered their unjust penalties. If lawyers can prove that Goodell made his decision before the date we had to send in money for tix and he held out on announcing it until after, then we have a case. But that will be incredibly hard to prove, because I doubt the NFL left any loose ends. Although, Roger Goodell is a stupid man

Look at it this way. If you take a poll of all season ticket holders and ask them if they don't renew based upon the suspensions being announced before the due date, how many do think let go of the ticket? My guess is almost none. So, the lawsuit is a moot point.

Pretty irrelevant. This doesn't effect the legality of the situation in any way.

Then so is the guy's post that I responded to. His basis was that Goodell held out with the punishment until the tickets had to be paid for. My argument is that even if the punishments were announced, there wouldn't have been anyone that wouldn't have renewed based on the punishments. It was a retort to his argument. The whole thing is irrelevant and has no legality. So of course, a discussion of possible legal tactics are also.

Season ticket holders were purchasing a product. After they paid for their tickets, the NFL changed the product they were purchasing. Not only was it changed, but it appears it was changed for questionable reasons. The NFL could have made these decisions prior to the purchasing of the season tickets since the penalties appear to be issued for actions allegedly conducted in 2009. It sounds like there is a case to go before a judge.

I once worked on a class action case where people living along the Mississippi River near Destrahan were complaining that the grain dust from mid river loading docks was causing it to rain in their mobile home.

Now, if that goes to court, I don't see how the Saint's Fan's lawsuit would not.

Which is irrelevant b/c it doesn't matter whether or not people would have renewed. It doesn't change what the administration did and what legal bearings are.

If
quote:

Goodell held out with the punishment until the tickets had to be paid for
is illegal; then it would make the situation illegal; rendering this point relevant.

Now you couldn't say that this isn't illegal bc people probably would have bought tix anyway; rendering that point irrelevant.

You cant sell a ticket; then change the product (in a way determined to be illegal) and then not offer a refund because you think most people would stay with their purchase anyway.

That would be pretty contradictory of our constitution
