Incorrect.

Its been centered on the Saints F Office and trusting decisions, kicking the can blah blah blah.

2007 - 7-9
2008 - 8-8

What happened in 2009 pussy?

2014 - 7-9
2015 - 7-9
2016 - 7-9

What happened in 2017 etc pussy?

The saints DID not blow it up and we are thankful they didnt.

Now shut the frick up.

No simply misread. But both of these teams BARELY missed the playoffs. Pete is in Bill territory agewise. Jags did NOT fire their guy.

Now shut the frick up.

We didn't even start kicking the can until the end of the Brees era

So, by your own definition, the discussion at hand (the post-Brees era) is only extended by maybe 2 years. So now we're talking a 5-year sample.

2014 - 7-9
2015 - 7-9
2016 - 7-9

...and you continue to bring up irrelevant things

Who are the qb’s available to replace Carr? I’m not so sure it’s smart to rely on the draft.

We have had a host of QBs who produced similar results for less money.

Jameis, Simien, Dalton, and hell, even Hill.

I'd rather Hill earn his money and play QB and lead us to a mediocre record for a few years than pay Carr top dollar to do the same and destroy our cap and future.

this mythical “future” you have built up in your head is hilarious. There is no realistic future without Carr, it would only be unlimited cap space and 4 win seasons for at least a decade.

Maybe we’d get lucky and hit on a QB, but that’s no guarantee.

Carr isn’t that far off the stats of a top tier guy—he’s the one that can be middle of the road, pay some other key positions and make a run while we can

This is exactly what the Raiders thought. So they added one of the league’s best wr(Adams), rb(Jacobs), TE(Waller) and DE(Crosby). Ask the Raiders how their run was with Carr?

I've seen enough of Carr to believe in a future with no playoff wins. I would not keep him past next year but Loomis stretching out his guaranteed past 2025 looks likely. I certainly hope he proves me wrong as a Saints fan.

We have a complete moron ladies and gentlemen. Loomis was a fool not to stick with these guys right?

Correct take, especially on a team friendly restructured deal. I mean we literally do it with all our players and did it with Brees for years. 35 mill per year is not 55 mill per year. We will see what the restructure looks like etc.

Tell me the difference in playoff games among each of them.

Hint: 0 for all of them.

Derek Carr has a passer rating of 69.2 with 310 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception in 1 game in the playoffs in his career.

He has never won a playoff game. He will be 33 in March.

Are you seriously arguing that the only thing between multiple years of awful teams is Derek Carr?

If true why weren’t the Saints a 4 win team in 21 and 22? It does not take a decade to rebuild and it’s not necessary to completely tank the roster.

Explain how it's "team friendly" using numbers.

quote:

35 mill per year is not 55 mill per year.

Pushing money to later years makes him a $55M+ QB in those years

Right now, pre-restructure these are his cap hits:

2025: $45.7M
2026: $55.7M

If we restructure to lower his 2024 cap, unless he takes a pay cut (which he's not), that makes both of those numbers bigger

2025 cap hits for Mahomes and Burrow

PM: $60.8M
JB: $46.25M

2026?

PM: $63.2M
JB: $48.5M

It's not going to require kicking his entire salary to exceed Mahomes' cap number

He's basically guaranteed to cost more than Burrow.

We aren’t drafting top 5 with Carr, it’s a fact of life. No reasonable alternative is magically showing up on our doorstep

How many years do teams go through to find a QB? Are you seriously arguing teams don’t go 5, 10 years before finding a legitimate starter?

We already have one

Exactly

We'd be out of cap hell with similar results had we started to take our medicine starting when Brees retired.

We wouldn't have certain guys (Hill, Cam, Maye, Mathieu, Thomas, etc.), but we would have almost almost all of the guys making an impact still on the roster.

The dumbest fricking logic of alltime. Youre dumb and I pussy it appears. Yeah, every GM in the NFL considers those players equals. Shut the frick up moron, Trevor Siemien?? Classic.

You mean a great QB? Those are rare and take time

Mediocre QBs are available almost every year. That's how we got Carr in the first place
