Yeah but saying hes a NFL caliber is a bold statement. He has potential sure but so do all these other guys left on board and were drafted before.

I think part of your rage posting during the draft is seeing things that aren't there. I said Haener is much more NFL capable than Book. Nothing more.

Nate Tice on Haener:

my report on Fresno State QB Jake Haener:

fricker can play

quote:

super tough, accurate and mentally has already showed a deep understanding on a variety of pass concepts.

He's a fun mix of traits and had some great moments in tight ballgames.

Your stating hes much more capable playing in the NFL. How so?? Why would you think hes better than Book, when you have no NFL tape on him. Unless your some advanced scout or work for a NFL team you have no clue? Lol rage posting. I guess if i rage post you dumb arse hype up shite you have no knowledge of.

Yeah, seems like a weird trade for Jacksonville. 7th round picks are basically worthless. They essentially traded a 4th for a 4th. Good deal for the Saints, especially since we're probably getting a couple comp picks next year.

I mean Purdy was drafted in 7th lol. But yeah in all seriousness they’re throw away picks.

Well let's just hope neither of them have to play a lot of meaningful snaps.

Last year may have been just an anomaly but there were way too many backup quarterbacks playing.

Can't recall a season like that ever that I can think of watching the NFL

Stetson is absolute trash. Haener is better than him imo.

Trash?

I dont know how he will fare in the NFL but Bennett definitely isn't a trash qb.

Just heard his interview on WWL. Very impressive guy except for his height.

The Saints have been trying to draft a Drew Brees clone for years. Maybe this one will hit.

Jake Haener shows off his football IQ with Steve Mariucci
Interesting .. Haener believes his QB play is similar to that of Sam Howell and Brock Purdy. Also, his mom is a very attractive TV anchorwoman in Oakland.

I mean… highly regarded scouts on Twitter are praising him for being exceptionally mentally capable, throwing with anticipation, making good 2/3rd level reads and having good poise in the pocket. Basically the only knocks on him are that his arm is average and he’s small. Book basically had the last two things and that was it. He did none of the things Haener did in college.

Hes a UGA guy. According to LSU fans here they’re all trash. Im not a Bennet fan but winning a national title as starting qb for a sec school is no joke.

Jesus guy, take a Xanax or something. How about ESPN ranking Ian Book as the 221st overall best player in 2021 vs. Jake Haener as the 92nd overall best player. Does that imply he just might be more NFL ready?

New Saints QB Jake Haener's strength: High-level processor.

"Really good distributor, knows how to play the position, accurate to the intermediate area, has the fourth-quarter comebacks -- he's just small and not a great athlete," an NFL executive said

With all the uncertainty at qb last season and even now (again Carr had a really bad season last year), they had to take a shot so I wouldn’t say its wasted. It’s basically all educated gambles at this point.

yes they needed a QB, i agree with taking a QB, but not a short QB, thats the only problem i have with the pick, his size

Yeah, that's why I wanted Clayton Tune. He went to the Cards, so he's screwed.
