Saints didn't really lose much giving the # 10 pick to Eagles

You weren't gonna be able to get a QB at 10 and it prevented Saints from trading next year's 1 to move up.
You got back in the first round with Payton pick and then your second round pick is high enough to get two solid players with those picks.
Plus you unloaded Ceedy Deuce who was all but unaffordable with the cap restraints.

Yep, the D-line players at 29 will be exactly the same caliber as those at 10.

I think his line is that if the Saints had the #10 pick they would have been tempted to trade 2024's #1 to move up and get a QB.
I'm not sure I agree because it seem that they got their guy in Carr. Having the 10th pick would not have changed that IMO

You would need a wr if you didn't get olave last year.

we could have made a trade for Olave, it was the initial trade to get a 2nd 1st (penning) is what people forget.
which honestly, its a huge TBD.
Skoronski looks to be a better guard prospect, which we could very well use. Jones and Johnson both look solid, but last year's prospects were better (I still wish we landed Cross...)
as for DTs there's Carter and then there's everyone else, who's considered mid-late 1st anyway

Nah, that's still on the table as a package for a late teen's pick for a rising small school Edge rusher.

They lost more then they gained

10th pick has many options like blocking a good player going into your division.

Better way to look at this is - Is Olave the best wr in this years draft and would he be a top 10 pick?

what would have been worse not making any trade, and drafting Traylon Burks (best WR available) with that pick. We would still need a WR & OL in this draft.

Burks was hurt last year and played with a run heavy team, he showed flashes, a tad early to write him off as bust, however Pickens was available when the Saints picked in the 2nd round and who says we don’t still need OL?

Olave would have been the best receiver prospect in this draft by far.

There are a lot of dumb posts but this one ranks very high on that list

I can't agree..
We would have 2 first round Picks ..
#10 (because our pitiful season) Lukas Van Ness-EDGE-Iowa
and
#29 (from Denver for Payton) Keeanu Benton-DT-Wisconsin or Calijah Kancey, DT, Pitt
I rather have those picks, We could use them for this older team

Have to keep in mind that in order to have #10 that would also mean they don’t have Penning. Haven’t looked at rankings post combine, but the pre-combine number had him in the 9-12 range if he were in this years draft.

Dum trade. Too much for what we got. I'll bet there are higher rated tackles this year at 10, and we'd have our two for next year..
