His 35 total kick returns in the 2022 tied with Keisean Nixon for the lead in the NFL. Overall, he appeared in all 17 games in a special teams role for the Vikings in the 2022 season.

I imagine one of the LBs gets cut for him.

Running back Kene Nwangwui is heading for New Orleans.

The former Vikings tailback and kickoff returner was claimed by the Saints, a day after the Vikings waived him.

Nwagnu was a second-team All-Pro in 2022. He has three career kickoff returns for touchdowns.

The move reunites Nwangwu with Klint Kubiak. The Saints’ offensive coordinator served in that role in 2021 in Minnesota, Nwangwu’s rookie year. That year, Nwangwu averaged 5.5 yards per carry, albeit in limited work.

The addition of Nwangwu means the Saints will have to create a roster spot. Jordan Mims, currently the No. 4 tailback, could be getting the short straw.

i rather trade jamal williams than cut mims.

Mims can go to the PT now. Not sure he is in demand yet.

Improving special teams is always a wise move (i.e. cutting Lou Headly)

honestly, i think is the worst for Miller... Williams has done better this preseason, and Mims has earned his place, IMO... Miller can't stay healthy, so what are we carrying his dead weight for? he's not good enough to warrant "waiting" for, so frick it... get someone else that can serve dual purposes for us, and cut the dead weight/the guy who can't ever get on the field

I wonder if we put in a claim for the 49ers punter Presley Harvin or whatever his name is. We need his services.

him and Noah Brown should be no brainers... instant impact players at areas of need...

so, basically, it makes too much sense, so it won't happen

Heard Noah to the Lions is basically a done deal since he didn’t hit waivers.

Harvin had worse stats than Hedley last year, and had a bad season the year before that. I don't get where yall are thinking he'd be an upgrade

oh, i know... i'm talking about after he's off IR... he's shown nothing that, IMO, warrants us keeping him around when there are other options out there that can replace anything he gives us.... he's not a superstar back, by any means, so why keeping waiting to do the inevitable?

they also picked up Tim Patrick... them and the Chiefs are doing quite nicely at picking up talent on the waiver wire/FA

He would be an upgrade over Hedley, but not by much. His punting stats were not much better than Hedley last year (his net was even worse).

This is actually a really nice pickup with the new kick off rules.

I find it more difficult for returners to get the ball anywhere

It's preseason. Any new wrinkles to exploit things on returns or coverages are being kept in house. There WILL be new strategies and then new blocking schemes to follow. Just like offensive/defensive evolution

He actually just signed with Washington. Nice pick up for them as he may be the #2 to McLaurin pretty soon.
