I’d like the OP to tell us why if we’re in such a great spot why are going to get the one guy he didn’t want.

The Saints are in such a good spot, no one wants the job without GM changes. We will be riding with Rizzi.

Has Rizzi been hired? IMO, its gonna be McCarthy and he is the best we could have done outside of Vrabel or Johnson.

You have to do some serious sunshine pumping and mental gymnastics to spin the Saints’ situation in a positive light. This thread is a joke.

Oh carry on. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.

We’re in the middle of a hard reset. I think Loomis eats the cap hit for 2025 and jettisons old players with bad contracts (see Lattimore). We’ll have to draft well, and if we hire MM I see next year as a 7-8 win season. Substantial cap relief for 2026 and beyond, and we can turn the barge in 2 years. It’s not as dire as everyone thinks. The fact we had a 15 year run of consistent success is remarkable, that’s rare in the NFL.

Ask yourself why there is no firm interview scheduled with McCarthy? Saints Report will tell you the snow delayed the search but we all know the truth. Glenn exposed the problem no matter how much denial and spin you come up with.

Even if we end up hiring McCarthy, how bad a look is it that our hire depended on a 50/50 chance that he was let go a week before.

fricking inept front office.

Except for the fact you’re losing ground on hiring good assistant coaches. One thing to take your time to make sure you get the right head coach. But you can’t wait forever.

They all know the Saints will be rebuilding (2-3 yrs) or delaying rebuilding then rebuilding (4-5 years).

Either way - it’s a long process and not one thats easy to survive.

So yeah. Anyone with a brain is like “nope”.
