Wrong.

100 risked. 180 profit.

There is to much gambling confusion in here.

If you place a 100 dollar bet your total winnings will be 280. 100 of that 280 will be the bet you laid down. Making for a profit of 180 dollars. Should clear it up.

Odds are quite simple to figure out. If there is a + sign, that represents the profit you will make on a hundred dollar bet. If there is a - sign, then you must bet that amount in order to make 100 dollars. So as some have correctly pointed out, 180 bucks is what you will win if you bet 100 dollars and the Saints win. On the other hand -180 would mean you have to bet 180 to make 100. It is understood that your original bet will be returned if you win. That is not included in any talk of "profit."

Obama should put one trillion on the Saints. Now that would make a nice statement before the game

Did Alejandro just figure out what MONEYLINE was?

And secondly your return is 180 not 280............

I was being verbose in an attempt to help explain the bet to people who may not gamble on a regular basis and who may not have understood.

I agree with Alejandro. Great odds for this game. Obama should be 3 trillion with the Chinese and our debt rating returns to AAA.

Saints to win is at +180 but I think i'd rather take them at +4.5 for -115

that way if they lose 28-24, I still when

The defending champ winning 85% of the time over 44 game span in opening games is irrelevant?

Maybe you are balling and can risk money like that but my mind is telling me that's a bad bet.

I bet on the saints all the time but I know how to take my heart out of it.

How is this anything but a bad bet? What am I missing?

+180 is actually pretty conservative given the circumstances.

Well, the Saints do usually play well in big games in the Payton era.

Green Bay could have the super bowl hangover.

I could see the saints winning this game close to half the time.

But I also see the positives on GBs side....past champs records, home game, great team. I don't expect the Saints to win it, but its not exactly an easy win for the Pack.

So I see both sides of this one.
If it were +150 I wouldn't touch it. I actually saw it at +200 on one site.

Lester what the hell does how the 1997 champion Denver Broncos opened the 1998 season have to do with tomorrows game?

That's an irrelevant set of stats you're throwing out and trying to apply to this game.

Saints win this game 40% of the time maybe more. That makes +190 (current odds) a great bet.
