“RUMORS: The #Falcons could potentially pursue a trade for #Saints  WR Tre’Quan Smith after nearly signing him last offseason, per @MarinoNFL

Smith didn’t sign with Atlanta due to contract discrepancies, but the Falcons are “high” on smith as a player.”

I wish the Saints would've signed cordarelle Patterson.

Pretty sure he only signed for 1 yr 4 mil. Or 4.5

Well, ATL could lead the league in rushing attempts this year, and apparently he is a good blocker.

Its kind of a problem when you are a WR and blocking is your best trait. Which also does no good when you cant stay on the field.

You call it "ignorant" hate. People are just tired of wasting a roster spot

Everyone in this thread needs to stop sandbagging one of our own

Trequan is like the Willie Roaf of WRs when it comes to blocking

He is also is a very accomplished game breaking WR. Watch the TD catch he made with Drew that set the new TD record(briefly). Sure it may be his only recieving highlight but everytime you watch it you see his immense potential especially when a DB isn't within 15 yards of him.

Atlanta knowing Trequans value and tremendous impact on football games should be willing to part with the bargain price of a 4th round pick to get a future gold jacket wearer

I think the problem with Smith is the Saints have always needed him to be the #2 receiver.

This year he gets to be a #3 or #4.

If Thomas and Olave stay healthy then Smith will feel alot better as a great blocker and 30 catch guy.

Did you just tell us to go back and look at (1) specific route 3+ years ago when we had a HOF QB to justify Trequan being here now?

And did you then justify that by saying he needs 15 yards of space to even make that happen?

The problem is he will never/ has never been better than a #3/#4.

The bigger problem is he shouldn’t even get that opportunity anymore on this roster.

Shaheed/ AT Perry are better and have more potential. Callaway already passed him up within 1 season.

If the only argument to keep him is “he can block” then when should have re evaluated keeping 4 TE’s

Please don't. Going to the Falcons will somehow make him an all-world WR and he'll go for 2000 yards and 20 TDs.

They would be crazy to trade him. He’s one of the better blocking wrs in the league…he just sucks at running routes and catching passes

In his defense, there have been some really bad takes on the board lately

He’d probably catch everything thrown to him.
