Roger Staubach and Steve Young did not get starting jobs until they were 30.

And according to the NFL Top 100 Players All-Time List, Roger Staubach was better than Drew Brees.

This doesn't really have much to do with the thread. It just still blows my mind.

Can’t forget chris weinke and Brandon Weeden

Staubach only was a heisman winner and young a runner up. Apt comparison to Hill. Great work

Young didn’t really start for the 49ers until 30 but he started at age 25 for the Bucs

What a terrible post!

Roger Staubach didn’t start playing football until after his military career. Then he started in his second season. Steve Young started for the L.A. Express in the USFL and then started for Tampa for two years after he joined the NFL.

Also, Staubach won the Heisman trophy and Young was a runner up.

You would have been better to point out Tommy Maddox. However, there are more instances of failed/underwhelming older QBs than great older QBs.

WTF does that have to do with anything? Still did not start until 30.

and you are really counting the USFL??? Young was awful there and for Tampa so GTFO here.

So, it only counts when you want it to count? Starting only matters when it supports your point? Staubach's military career matters because he was considered a starter immediately due to his skills and did not spend several years as a backup/special teamer. I like Hill but question whether he is the heir apparent. I almost think the Saints are getting Glazer to put that info out there in hopes somoene ponies up a 1st.

If CSP believes that Hill is his starting QB of the future then coach is one smart sandbaggin motherf@cker.

Would be a all time great slight of hand by a head coach!

Young had a great arm in college and was the #1 pick in the USFL the year he came out.
