Wow. Steve young going off. This is not the NFL we built and love. The integrity of the game is gone. His words.

And Goodell and the owners know this. That's why they don't give a shite and we'll see players and coached getting fined for criticizing the refs. BUT....next Sunday stadiums will be packed around the league.

i can actually see attendance dropping. If this continues, people will just assume stay home instead of go to the game. That might send a message but I doubt it.

I thought he was going to cry. He feels really strongly.

This would make for a great movie. The Replacements 2: Officially Screwed. Bring back Keanu and you have a hit.

I've watched my last nfl game this year. The league has zero credibility. This whole ref lockout proves goodell is an ego maniac that thinks he is above all reason. I'm not wasting my time on this crap. I'm really pissed I wasted my night on this garbage.

Winners always want the ball when the game is on the line.

It kind of pisses me off how much outrage there is for this when the bounty stuff was similarly stupid.

I still can't believe he hasn't been removed for the bounty bs he made up and now he has caused this bs with the replacement refs.

Are the owners really ok with Goodell performance? Do the rest of the owners outside of Benson really support his lies about the saints?

Actually, I'm loving this blown season. It is making Goodell look so absolutely foolish.
Serious question - will he still be the Commish by the time the SB comes to New Orleans?

Goodell is a moron. He suspends players for conduct detrimental to the game. What do you call what's happening now?

It's all about the benjamins...

lawsuit over the NFL hiding the impact of repeated head trauma...respond with bounty gate and a few years of ridiculous fines on players (in the sole discretion of Goodell)...all under the guise of we are protecting the players.

Officials want a few million more in the ref pension plan..a drop in the bucket for the NFL...and Goodell throws player safety out the window to save a few bucks.

The owners got their man....be careful what you wish for!

After review, the pitcher was off the rubber, therefore there is no balk, and the result of the play is a double bogey. Next hole.

All in this thread realize the situation with the refs is on the owners and not Goodell right? He's doing exactly what the owners want, taking the heat for them.

I have issues with him over the bounty situation, but let's put the blame where it is due here.

That was because it only effected 1 team and their fanbase. Everyone else was more or less, "glad it isnt us".

Now his careless actions are effecting the rest of the NFL, and the fans of those teams are getting their taste.
