Everyone is going to the AFC

We rolling with bums again it's official
Posted on 3/19/22 at 7:56 pm to burke985
He woulda been our number one last year

Wow a 6th? I would have gladly given up a 3rd for him. I think he would have been a perfect complement to MT13.

6th rd pick but also having to pay his big contract coming off season-ending injury. Rams didn't want to pay his roster bonus.

MT plus a potential #18 isn’t rolling with bums

Saints will regret not making that trade.
He is the perfect number 2 to pair with mike thomas.

An acl injury is nothing in this day and age. He would be ready for the season.

We cannot afford to commit that kind on money to him and the money we commit to MT as well (and still try to get a QB). Too many act as if building a team is as easy as playing a video game.

Age 30 + injury is not a good combo. Woods will be a complimentary WR the rest of his career. That contract will be horrible value

None of the money is guaranteed.
That contract will get redone.

You wouldn't trade a 5th or 6th rounder for an elite wr2 who blocks and runs great routes?
He will never see that money. I'm sure it will be reworked with the quickness.

Cdub pull the data on All Pro WRs of the last decade past the age of 30
Now pull the data on All Pro WRs of the last decade past the age of 30 coming off significant injury
We need a serious WR2. There are too many question marks. If I knew we’d get a WR2 I’d say cmon down Robert.
Keep your eye on the WR trade market.

Who says he has to be an all pro
.
What are you even talking about? He is a solid wr2 who can block, catch, and run routes at a high level.
There aren't many wr2 out there.

It’s hard to have a discussion if you can’t understand
I didn’t say he needed to be an All Pro. I’m telling you even the greatest WRs in the game (All Pros) see a steep decline after 30. Especially the ones who are coming off serious injury. Woods isn’t an All Pro or even a pro bowler.
I’m just telling you you want to come out of pocket for a guy who is coming off an ACL and about to be on the wrong side of 30. My solution for you is to find another WR with that money. Why do you want to roll the dice on a position we’ve been chasing for years?
The last five seasons, only 4 WRs age 30+ have registered 1k. Julio, Antonio Brown, Fitz, Edelman

Robert woods isn't a guy who needs to average 1k.
You aren't coming out of pocket anything besides this years base salary if it doesn't get adjusted, which it will.
It's not like you are trading a 2nd or 3rd rounder.
It's true that most players aren't going to be all-pros after 30 but that isn't what his role would entail as a number 2.
He put up better stats in 9 games than callaway did in 17 as the wr1.
