Reminder that Taylor Heinicke was a flat out stud last night.

and he went undrafted...
All is not lost gents, yes a 1st round pick would be nice for a QB but we can still get a franchise guy in the later rounds.

If you look at the starting NFL QBs this year, here is the list of QBs that were taken outside of the first round. It looks like the second round has produced some decent QBs, but your hit rate outside of that is statistically improbable.
- Jalen Hurts - 2nd Round
- Derek Carr - 2nd round
- Geno Smith - 2nd round
- Jimmy Garoppolo - 2nd round
- Andy Dalton - 2nd round
- Davis Mills - 3rd round
- Russel Wilson - 3rd round
- Jacoby Brissett - 3rd round
- Kirk Cousins - 4th round
- Dak Prescott - 5th round
- Tom Brady - 6th round
- Jalen Hurts - 2nd Round
- Derek Carr - 2nd round
- Geno Smith - 2nd round
- Jimmy Garoppolo - 2nd round
- Andy Dalton - 2nd round
- Davis Mills - 3rd round
- Russel Wilson - 3rd round
- Jacoby Brissett - 3rd round
- Kirk Cousins - 4th round
- Dak Prescott - 5th round
- Tom Brady - 6th round

Shows you how "smart" NFL GM's and scouts are.

Dude goes into undefeated eagles hostile backyard and doesn't fold, made plenty of plays on his own and WINS.
Keep suckin on Andys tit baw.

Top prospect go to horrific teams. Talented teams finding qbs outside of the top 5 picks tend to be solid

The logic behind this is that it's not all doom and gloom about drafting a QB. Plenty of 1st round busts (Winston) and plenty of later guys studs.
I would take Heinicke over any current Saints QB.

Taylor Heinicke is a franchise guy?

Why do y’all do this?
If you took any QB in the league and put him into our current offensive system (newsflash: we don’t have one) you’d get around the same damn results.
Y’all are acting like just plugging any QB into this spot would yield immediate results…… it wouldn’t. Our whole system is broken

Taylor Heinicke is a walking advertisement of why Taysom should’ve been starting by week 3 or 4.
Intangibles matter in games of Inches. If Taysom was starting, we’d be 6-4 and probably still bitching about it bc this is what this place does.

It is not like we have other QBs that are doing anything special. Taysom can't throw the ball, but he is a hell of a lot more fun to watch.

better than...
Carr
Taintyhill
Davis Mills
Mac Jones
Pickett
Jacoby Brisset
Marritoa
Goff
Dalton / Winston Combo
Baker
Did I miss anybody?

This is just not true. Drew called blocking assignments, rerouted WRs, called the audibles. Not to mention knew how to throw guys open and threw quickly....fast release. I get it. Drew is HOF'er, but a good QB can still make an average team good.

quote:not. Had they lost last night, would you be singing his praises as a "franchise guy?" He's a journeyman 29 year old backup at best.
