frick that. He was interviewed and answered a question with what he believed.
I hope he retires before this season and gives the team and the city the bird on the way out.

Kneeling druing the National anthem is disrespectful to the country and the men and woman who have served and died to protect our freedoms.
Im completely aware that the rights a person is give in this country. The freedom to protest is the American way but to ostracize a person because they feel your form of protest is disrespectful is insane.
Also this fake indepth speeches with moments of "contemplation" are so contrived and a beacon of full of shite.
Black people kill more of each other in Chicago in one month the all cops kill black people in a year.
Where is the outrage for the retired black cop killed by looters in the protest????? His life isnt worthy of protest because a white cop didnt kill him!,seems reasonable.

What’s my schtick? Someone who thinks for himself and speaks what he thinks, regardless of what the enlightened members of this board thinks?
I’d say 80% of the comments in this thread are the reason why the country is currently in the state it’s in. You can have a difference of opinion, but empathy for your fellow man shouldn’t be the one thing you’re short on.

If having empathy and understanding makes me a “piece of shite” in your eyes, then I just have to laugh at what a small, insignificant person you truly are when you aren’t behind a keyboard.

Are you an idiot? So he isn't entitled to his beliefs because they don't jive with the vast minority? You libs are even more pathetic than I thought was possible.

Hardly a lib. Cute that’s the go-to when someone posts something you don’t agree with. “YOU MUST BE A LIBTARD!!” Nah man, just someone with a brain who can think and also read the current climate. Be better.

He literally said that he agrees with the movement but just wants a different method of protest because he values the anthem that much. I don’t see why he can’t have that opinion. Just like Kaep has every right to express his opinion. I’m pretty annoyed at the fact that all of these teammates immediately jumped his arse all over social media, knowing full well the kind of man he is.
No one wants to have a real conversation. They’re just waiting for the next headline to come out to get even further infuriated.

Drew only did what everyone else is doing, spoke his mind. The only difference was it didn’t align with others way of thinking so instead of having a civilized discussion they acted like spoiled brats who didn’t get their way, cried and took their ball and went home. Y’all really showed Drew whose boss by unfollowing him on twitter. I bet he’s all destroyed over it lol. Idiots with a little bit of money acting like their opinion is doctrine and everyone else are intolerable racists. I hope Jenkins gets a brick to the face protesting and never plays for the Saints. Kamara can go to hell after his contract is up but it looks like we are stuck with diva Thomas.

I wish I had 50 downvoted to give you.
This whole leader of men shite when it comes to sports is cringeworthy. Especially when they talk about leading into battle. GTFOH with that shite. They play a game for a living, a great living at that. They make millions to play with a ball. Maybe they should grow up.

Downvote.
This is America. He can believe whatever the frick he wants.
He is allowed to have an opinion.
He will not sellout to appease the radical left media.
I hope he doesn't backtrack...
My opinion (that I'm entilted to), is that he's spot on and these stupid arse athletes dont have the mental fortitude to realize they are being used by democrats.

I get that but Drew didn't pick the time...the time picked him. I will make a statement here for my own feelings. I think the cop that killed this man should be fried. I think ANY cop that steps across the line should be brought down hard! I think the black community self-perpetuates what they call "racism" and yes, they have been treated poorly for a large segment of the history of this country. All these things are true.
Racism is big business and is being propagated by politicians and activists. I have no problem with black men voicing their concern about injustice. I just don't see me as a white man, helps them at all by playing into the narrative the activists are driving into the AA community...that is that white people are your enemies and they want to oppress you. No...the people that seek power and fortune are the ones that oppressing you!!!
Mike Thomas...do you know one man in your life more sincere than Drew Brees? Do you really think he's a racist? Drew Brees has invested more in the black communities of N.O. than Mike Thomas/Jenkins and Kamara combined.
He's made all of you rich! You aren't helping anything by attacking a guy who is without a doubt one of the best people in the NFL! You attack because your heart is full of anger and DB hasn't put it there...you did! Bet you aren't sending money to Minn. to help re-build all the black businesses that got torched by the so-called protests?

quote:Or maybe he made the mistake to think the guys were his actual friends. One should never do that.
But the fact that he’s supposed to be the leader of this team and should have the intelligence to be able to read the current climate and maybe not say something that could be taken as divisive and tone-deaf as what he said.

Not sure if you're talking about Brees or Kaep right now. Your last sentence is EXACTLY what happened to Kaep & why he is out of the league. If I misunderstood your last sentence, I apologize.

Kapernick quit the 49ers. He was horrible in the last season in a half with SF. Hes out of the league because hes a circus and he lacks talent. He's a 2nd string qb that wants starter money and has baggage.
Cam newton is looking for a job and ge was a league MVP with more talent then kap ever had.
