Regardless of where you stand, you should be disappointed in Brees

Not because of what he said. Not because of what he believes in.
But the fact that he’s supposed to be the leader of this team and should have the intelligence to be able to read the current climate and maybe not say something that could be taken as divisive and tone-deaf as what he said.
This team is fractured right now and hopefully a team meeting will get them back on track. Regardless of Brees’ on-field greatness, his comments were incredibly disappointing.

Friend,
These are adults who play a game for a living. To expect leadership from game players is expecting a lot. Those who watch adults playing sports are an even sadder lot.
Yours,

If MT13 can make statements about the national guard not being to take all of us then Drew can state his feelings about why he believes kneeling during the anthem is disrespectful. Frick off

He stated his opinion. If anyone is butt hurt them they are a pussy. He didn’t say anything racist

He just alienated all the black men on his team. He should at least be open to hearing what they have to say.

We finally agree, he usually chooses his words wisely and its a terrible time for him not to

Does Drew survive this? What are the chances he is cut over this? Serious question, who thinks he doesn’t make it out of this?
I totally agree with everything he said FWIW

One characteristic I look for in a leader is to be honest

Michael Thomas is 27 and Malcolm Jenkins is 32. They went public with their feelings and made this a national issue.
They easily could have gotten in contact with Drew Brees or gotten him a message without making this public.

Why?? They pretty much said “frick you drew” simply because he doesn’t agree with their protesting during the national anthem. It goes both ways

frick that. He took a stand, like Kap took a stand for what he believes in. They don’t get to be “disappointed” because he doesn’t believe what the mob thinks.
