Neal was really good in college. Was hoping he could be a Pierre Thomas type for this team. Hopefully he heals fast.

As long as Neal isn’t out for the year… then it’s a injury you can live with.

It blows my mind the expectations or hope people have of a 6th round pick. He is and always was a long shot to make this team. Hes been a lock for the practice squad and may have a future but, to beat out CEH and Miller was probably never happening.

If Rattler is our starting QB we might win 4 games if we are lucky. That will give us good chance for a QB in next year’s draft class. Works for me

The same people bitching about tearing it down for the last 3 years are the same people bitching about the team being fricked when the rebuild finally starts. Makes no sense.

So rattler playing well is that more encouraging?

My personal win total expectation line is 5.5. Anything less will be slightly disappointing. Anything more will be a bit of a surprise.

Overall, this is a "take your medicine" season with the goal to get in position to start the rebuild process, in earnest, next year. That means the Saints may have the worst QB group in the NFL...and that is ok if it means they aren't spending a ton of money on average/below average QBs like Justin Fields or Sam Darnold, or even Geno Smith, just to be a .500 team.

I guess the only reason for optimism is the Saints still managed to win 5 games last season despite being one of the most injured teams in the league. IF, the first string can stay relatively healthy (compared to NFL standards) then the Saints can probably be competitive in most games. For this year, that's a reasonable goal.

There are quite a lot of people in the saints building that did not know how to approach this season during the draft.

For example, passing up on guaranteed roster depth like Luther Burden, RJ Harvey, Mason Taylor or Will Johnson for a 26yo project
