Mostert isn't expecting as hostile an environment as most are anticipating. Members of The Faithful have traveled well this season, and the team has noticed. They have frequently turned opposing stadiums into what felt like home fields for the visiting 49ers this year.

"I have not played a game in the Voodoo Dome," Mostert said, "and I have heard multiple stories about how crazy the fans are in there, and the atmosphere, and all that. How I see it is it's going to be a neutral site because I know our fans are going to show up because every game we've gone to, so far, has really felt like a home game, especially for these away games. Even in Baltimore, we had a lot of fans cheering for us. "We're going to see how it goes this week when we play the Saints, but, like I said, it's going to be a nice atmosphere, and I heard nothing but great, crazy things about it."

Wonder if it'll be 50% like with the Cowboys fans.

The last time SF came here, there was a pretty good amount of gold and red in the stands.

No one outside of LA understands just how loud the dome can be when it wants to be. I couldn’t hear the person next to me yell at kickoff during the 2013 Panthers game.

To put this in context, their away games were:

@TB
@Cincy
@LAR
@Wash
@AZ
@Balt

The only fanbase that I am surprised didn't show up would be the Balt game. The other fan bases are not known for having a strong following.

@NOLA
@Sea

I'm sure the opposing fans will be heard in these games considering the playoff considerations.

Wow. I guess I hadn't realized how awful their schedule has been so far.

people are going to overreact to this. he did not insult saints fans or the dome. he just said niner fans have been traveling well this year. this is not a slight towards us and it's nothing to be upset about.

and let's be honest, the dome is not going to be 100% saints fans on sunday. See: eagles/steelers last year

Picks two of the best traveling fan bases in the league..Why not just throw the Packers fans in there for good measure The dome will be rocking and this dude will not be able to hear himself think.

do you not consider the niners to be one of the best traveling fan bases? there was a shite ton of them in 2014.

Who is overreacting? Seems like a bunch of quotes and bits of an article were posted.

I've never thought of them as anywhere near that category in the past decade, not close to the same level of Steelers (who are in a league of their own), Eagles, Cowboys, etc.

I don't recall being overwhelmed in 2014.
