Divide it up, and Pickett’s hands are smaller than 99.6% of all hand measurements on record over that range. He’s in the 0.4th percentile.

I think he was probably going to be there around 18 anyway.
Some teams still stick to hand measurements and some don't.
Let him wear gloves in the league.
Burrow has 9 inch hands and people were complaining about him before the draft.
We see how that worked out.

Nothing is conclusive until the Combine & Pro Days. It's way too early in the process to speak definitively. The interview process at the Combine holds a ton of weight especially for QB prospects.
At this time in 2017, Patrick Mahomes was viewed by the majority of draft boards as a 2-3 rounder then the Combine & Pro Day came around. That same draft Tim Williams was being mentioned as a top 10 potential pick but then character issues & failed drug test caused him to fall to 3rd round.
Back in 2011, Da'Quan Bowers was viewed as the consensus #1 pick again around this same time of year until his medical exams at the Combine showed Bowers had a degenerative knee condition which caused him to fall to the second round.
These things can go either way. So just have some patience until after the Combine because some of this stuff is useless until then.

Some of those predate accurate combine recording. But anything sub 9” does not bode well.

The combine & its coverage has grown tenfold in the last 20years.
I don’t think they were recoded wrong firsthand. I am just not sure they made it accurately to the internet 15 years later.

Out of all the QB prospects in this draft, I believe he has the highest percentage to be decent starter as a rookie. He's just not a day one starter game 1 out of training camp. Pickett is a guy you bring along slowly.
My main point is all this speculation is useless until the Combine & Pro Days. Once there's more info on Pickett then it will become somewhat clearer on his draft position. Right now it's just too early in the process to give definitive projections.

If he does measure historically small hands…if he does everything else well…then why not gamble on it? It used to be that quarterbacks couldn’t be short and have any success but that’s been proven wrong. Could he fumble more? Maybe. But if he excels at everything else then I’m sure a lot of teams would be ok with it taking him and just give him a great OL
Idk. It worries me about his hand size but the dude still spins it and has been impressive. And he’ll play in warm weather or in a dome for 6 games every season, sometimes more depending on who is on the schedule. Plus more and more teams are going with enclosed stadiums anyway. And he’s played at Pitt with the gloves. Not like he was playing at Miami the whole time so he knows how to play in the cold.

First off, there's no way anyone can make a legit projection where Pickett will go in the draft until he works out for teams at the Combine & Pro Day along with his in person interviews at the Combine. These early projections by draft sites are trash until this part of the process is completed.
Secondly, too often people get caught up in the physical measurables of a QB during draft season. There's so many other factors that come into play with QB's outside of physical measurables or what their highlights look like. Then these sites & "tv analyst" hype up every prospect as the next coming so it only makes matters even worse.
The QB position is unlike any other in professional sports. There's other intangibles that aren't seen by the average fan that comes into play as to whether or not a prospect came succeed at the NFL level. Sometimes those intangibles get exposed prior to the draft process. Sometimes they aren't. There are a lot of unknowns surrounding Pickett which is why I'm beating the drum to allow more information to surface after the Combine & his Pro Day at Pitt. That's all I'm saying here.

Willis is the definition of a boom or bust prospect. He's not a day one starter nor is he someone who should see the field at all his rookie year. He's highly talented yet not skilled enough to throw out there as an NFL starter his freshman year. Unfortunately, some organization could very well fall in love with his physical talent, feed him to the wolves as a rookie & ruin any chance he has to be a successful NFL QB.
