Rushing yards and conversions on scrambles. Brees never had that either

The playcalling has been pretty strictly managed today. Jameis looks comfortable, to the point I thought Payton could ask more of him but yeah 13 passes and 75 yards going into the 4th quarter is game manager shite.

So Jamies has done the exact opposite of what all his haters criticized him for

And it still won’t ever be enough

The packers haven’t converted a 3rd down.

The story of the game is the defense not Winston.
Winston has had short fields and zero pressure. He looks good but this isn’t a game changing performance. It’s just unwise to start crowning him now.

There's a lot of area in the spectrum between "won't ever be enough" and all out sucking the dick of a guy with 25 yards passing per quarter.

Literally no one is criticizing him today. I was a huge critic of us signing him in the first place and I've been very complementative of how he's been able to manage this game. We're just not crowning ourselves Super Bowl champs yet.

as I typed that out he connects with a bomb. THAT'S what I've been wanting to see. Now I'm on board.

This. The defense deserves the game ball.

but I'll crown him now.

There's the shot I've been looking for. And perfectly placed.

Now that was a nice throw. Drew couldn’t do that last year I will admit.

Lulz

The whole fricking premise of Jamies revitalizing his career here was because of a competent defense and a great offensive scheme/coaching

You probably argued 100 pages about how bad winston was. Go sit down bubba

Sorry we didn't suck his dick through 3 quarters of 6 yard passes after hearing all off season that he was the savior for the guy who couldn't throw the ball more than 15 yards.

Some of us prefer to see it before we believe it. And now we've seen it and firmly on Team Winston.

The reigning MVP and one of the GOAT's has been held to 3 points and that's barely 3.

Yes. The defense was the key for this game. It allowed our offense to do whatever it wanted with no pressure.

With this defense, run game, and a game-managing QB with a deep ball....we are absolutely a Super Bowl contender.

Some people have imagination… and are ble to extrapolate things based on things they’ve seen.

Like for instance seeing Jameis win with talent at FSU, or play well in spurts in Tampa.

Or watching Payton manage to win with Bridgewater off the bench with no preseason to prepare.

Or understand that when the defense and running game are great, the qb doesn’t need to throw for 300 yards

Is he an upgrade over an injured Brees? Maybe.
Uninjured Brees could easily win a game like this where the defensive is dominating and run game is clicking

He’s made every throw they asked him to make.

It’s been a couple years since you could say that about Drew, unfortunately.

You hold an Aaron Rodgers Packers team to three points, and yeah, the story is definitely defense. That's impressive as hell

I honestly didn’t even consider race until you just said it

The packers have 3 points

Can we at least evaluate him in a game where we don’t catch every break and the defense is playing out of their mind?

It’s just a classic over reaction to a single performance
