I don't think the people making the rules factor in New Orleans economy much when deciding on things, it is pretty obvious.

They opted for 6k in Nola last year over 25k in shite hole BR. Home field, economy, ease of getting to game all factored in

That’s fine and all but I already see the floods of comments about “ohhh yeah we’ll just use a fake one”. They’ve obviously thought about a means of verification if that’s what they’re going to rely on.

We shall see...if it turns out we only need to flash the vax card, then there is no verification possible.

to a much safer indoor environment than if it was filled with unmasked and unvaccinated fans?
I don't understand why people are saying vaccinated = safer environment. The CDC is telling us that vaccinated patrons can contract and spread the Delta variant at a same rate as unvaccinated.

Not here to argue the efficacy as we know the vax works very well at limiting symptoms. That is a given. I just don't understand why people think it stops the spread when the CDC tells us that is not necessarily the case.

GFY with this stupid as frick response. As if paying taxes is the same thing as being mandated to submit to medical procedures under threat you can no longer do something as simple as eating at a restaurant or attending a football game if you don’t.

“As our community vaccination rate continues to improve over the summer . . . .”

And there’s the rub. Our vaccination rate didn’t materially improve over the summer until this delta wave started. This was all avoidable. But there is a real cost to being the dumbest and fattest peoples in the Union.

I hope that I'm wrong on this but I have a bad feeling that anyone who thinks that this will prevent capacity limitations is going to be in for a very unpleasant surprise.

When you have someone that's repeatedly proven herself to be a power hungry, inept mess...and doesn't have to answer for it...don't be surprised when they continue to act that way.

Remember when everyone said that we'd have Mardi Gras in 2021 along with all of the festivals in October? Yeah, how did that go, again? But but but...let's just shift the blame to those who don't get vaccinated...instead of the morons who are in charge. Not to mention the morons that put them in charge in the first place. (Go figure, those folks ARE the vast majority of the unvaccinated.)

Enjoy your political Katrina, New Orleans.

I honestly hopes she does limit. frick the saints and frick the leadership if new orleans. Cant wait to watch both circle the toilet bowl on the way down.

Not to derail, but in case you weren't aware (and I think this is exactly what I said in which you replied no):

quote:

"High viral loads suggest an increased risk of transmission and raised concern that, unlike with other variants, vaccinated people infected with Delta can transmit the virus," Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the CDC's director, said in a statement Friday.

"This finding is concerning and was a pivotal discovery leading to CDC's updated mask recommendation. The masking recommendation was updated to ensure the vaccinated public would not unknowingly transmit virus to others, including their unvaccinated or immunocompromised loved ones," Walensky said.

The good news is that the vaccines continue to be highly effective against the virus in preventing hospitalization and death from COVID-19. For instance, three studies from Canada, Singapore and Scotland have found that the Pfizer vaccine provides more than 90% protection against hospitalization and death.

Problem is, the vax works so usually they have no clue that they are spreading.

Vaccinated people do not spread the virus as much as I vaccinated. If you have it, you don’t get it as bad or for as long.

Also, if you’re vaccinated I’m willing to bet you’re taking this entire thing more seriously than someone who isn’t. Wearing a mask indoors in public. Social distancing. If you’re unvaccinated at this point I can really only assume you don’t and don’t do much of anything else to stay away from others or prevent spread of any kind.

So, no I don’t really want to be at an indoor venue with 70k people who DGAF and are much more likely to bring something in there to spread around.

Correct. And in nothing you posted does it show vaccinated people spread delta at the same rate as unvaxxed

My guess is they will require LA Wallet to avoid the fake cards

So if you’re coming from Wisconsin for the opener you’re fricked? What about out of state fans?
They simply look at whatever you flash in front of them and then wave you on through.

Just the fact you have so many downvotes on this just goes to show how fricking stupid some people are as to believe a vaccine is a means of control

This is a bit melodramatic. There is an infectious disease running through the city. The city’s resources and hospitals are under stress because of it and people are dying. Before attending an indoor football game in this city and yelling for 3 hours with 70,000 other people, you now have to (1) get a free vaccine that keeps you out of the hospital or (2) take a free test to shows you aren’t a current carrier.

No one is making you get a vaccine to go to the Saints game. God help us if people in this state are ever asked to start sorting the recycling.

It’s more than just the Saints games Ned… it’s all businesses. And we could look at the numbers that show deaths remaining flat, 87 has shown these graphs in multiple threads, but that’s not the point. It’s disgusting that you’re just OK with this gross unconstitutional mandate.
