The Saints selecting a WR or a skill position in the first round isn't the problem for me. If they go tackle, guard, or DT, I wouldn't be surprised. however, we need to grab one in the first three rounds. The last four years we have not grab a difference maker offensively. The only two playmakers we have selected since 2018 are Trequan Smith and Adam Trautman , both have disappointed to say the least. The Saints need to hit on this draft. We just paid the great 2017 draft class, now we need another one to help them out. A DT, WR, G, and T.

Apparently anyone and I mean anyone can get a job doing nfl write ups. Guess this guy totally missed our D giving Tom Brady the goose egg……geez

Need depth at offensive line.

When the OL gives the Saints QB time to throw the ball, the current WR's drop too many critical passes.

Got to get a WR, maybe two.

We're gonna draft the best Center/Guard hybrid in the 1st round. Brace yourselves.

What's crazy is outside of not drafting a QB, Guard, TE, or K/P; they have been pretty consistent with the positions they draft under Payton.

RB 2
WR 2
DT 2
DE 3 (Hicks drafted as DE)
LB 1
T 2 (Peat drafted as OT)
C 1
CB 3 (Jenkins drafted as CB)
S 1
QB 0
OG 0
TE 0
P/K 0

It goes without saying that what they are able to do in FA will dictate a lot of what they do in the draft, but if their roster is similar to what they have now I think it'll be important to draft WR, OG, DT in that order with their 1st 3 picks. Need to finally invest in that solid #2 WR, need someone to either push or replace Ruiz, and always need depth on Dline.

Ruiz very well could be the next Shanle, where he's the weakest link but keeps beating everyone out. But, there needs to be an investment to improve the interior line as well as improve the depth.

Like baseball and pitching, there’s no such thing as “too much depth” in the trenches

The only reason we're 8-8 is because of our depth in the trenches. If you don't feel like you have 8-9 deep that you value, you absolutely take a T or a G in the 1st 2 rounds.

That's what everybody said about the Bengals when they drafted Chase.

Our offensive line is still good when healthy even if we lose Armstead in the off-season. This has just been a injury ridden season for us. I agree with building the oline but at some point we need playmakers and I think the time is now. In the past, we put a big emphasis on protecting Brees which was the right move bc given time he made receivers better. We are not in the same situation. We need playmakers on offense to move the ball. We can’t rely on our qb play to make guys better. We can still take an offensive lineman in day 2 but need to find some playmakers

That would be a good pick, but it makes too much sense so likely not gonna happen.

Williams might be the number 1 guy I want Saints to end up with. Hearing Russillo and another dude talk about him reminded me of how people talked about Thomas when Saints drafted him where you knew he would be special.
