We definitely should.

Also it was like the 27th pick so how was it a huge waste? It's the draft, shite happens.

It was the 32 pick. Our first round pick immediately following the Super Bowl.

Whatever happened to Stanley Jean Baptist? Is he still collecting a check somewhere?

Still think it was a solid pick. Hindsight is always 20/20, and looking back on it he was always athletic enough to compensate for his incredibly terrible form and mental awareness. Made him look average or just below most of the time.

I think they should have tried Baptiste at FS before they let him go. It was obvious he was terrible as a CB, but sometimes a player can find themselves at another position and with his range he would make a good FS if he could make the transition.

FS requires good intelligence, SJB's knock was lack of intelligence.

you gets no argument from me there, but I woulda at least tried his arse there before cutting him loose. With his 6'3" frame and speed he would make a good centerfielder, but you're right it does require some intellect. lol

That guy did not belong in the NFL period. He was horrible.

Stanley Jean Baptiste will go down as one of the worst 2nd Round choices in Saints history. Part of the reason I do not get all that excited about an NFL Draft.

If only there was a mechanism for teams to test players, check out their physical tools, question them, and test their mental acumen; mistakes like this could be avoided.

Kind of a cross between St John the Baptist Parish and Stanley Jean-Baptiste.

You could tell that dude was a bust early on but some on this board never understood that. Dude was such a liability.

well, you the draft, but I don't get excited about the NFL combine because a player can put up all world numbers like Baptiste and be a total bust as we know.

Here are the 5 picks after PROB:
OT Rodger Saffold (has 80 starts at LT, RG, and RT for the Rams)
CB Chris Cook (out of the league: 29 starts, no INTs)
DT Brian Price (out of the league: 14 starts, 3 sacks)
RB Dexter McCluster (pro-bowl return man in 2013...good pass catcher out of the backfield)
S Nate Allen (decent safety but nothing special with 76 starts, 13 ints, 3 FFs)

Obviously, McCluster would have been nice for his return ability and being Reggie insurance but our fans probably would have rioted if we went offense in round one for a backup.

Players taken in the 2nd round that would have been nice in hindsight at 32:
Safety TJ Ward (3x pro-bowler, would have been the perfect Harper replacement)
TE Rob Gronkowski (obviously we wouldn't draft him and Jimmy in the same draft...but could you imagine our offense if we did)
DT Linval Joseph (2016 pro-bowler)
DE Carlos Dunlap (2x pro-bowler)
LB Sean Lee (2x pro-bowler; would have been a nice Fujita replacement)
WR Golden Tate (2014 pro-bowler)

Yeah he looked lost in the 2014 Preseason games. Like, more lost than most rookies.
