My favorite text exchanges the last few days have been with people in the Saints draft room. Everyone has been sending their reactions with multiple explanation points…they feel like they are getting the players they’ve been targeting all along.

LINK

Sounds like our front office feels really good about their selections and are getting everyone they targeted throughout the draft process.

Or they’re trying to validate their picks through the media because they feel the fanbase and others questioning their picks lol

Which of the picks have been questionable?

For real. Every single one of our picks has been a position of need and we got solid players. And with the front office saying they are getting the exact guys they targeted makes it even better since they are a lot better at this than message board losers like us.

Lol well some of us dont just get excited after reading online positive reviews of players. But yeah your the expert on everything since you google and repeat what every random review online says. Stop acting like your some expert scout your opinion matters as much as mine whether you like it not you entitled couch potato prick

9/10 fans have absolutely no clue about any players being drafted outside of MAYBE a handful of names. To think an nfl front office would need to feign happiness over mid round picks is laughable.

Honestly, I'm pretty happy with the draft.

I've been a fan of Haener for a while so I am incredibly stoked about that one but overall we hit on needs and got some really interesting project guys.

They are more experienced for sure and work much harder at this then we do. But we pay their bills, the fans are the ones who buy tickets, merchandise, etc. So us message board losers have every right to question them and they aren’t always right with their picks despite their experience.

She didn’t mention just mid round picks unless I misread that. Fan expectations matter, they don’t matter if you win- hence Payton drafting and doing whatever he wanted. Allen is on the hot seat, he had a shitty first season. I can promise you fan expectations do matter. Just depends on how much depending if your winning or not.

Only thing I could see someone bitching about is in what rounds certain positions were taken.

Maybe take the lineman in round 3 and the rb in round 4. Now I know it doesn't work like that, but in a perfect world, that is how I would've done it.

I like the haefner pick myself but you know there will be some bitching about that. I'll tell you this, he isn't an Ian book level pick.

I could see someone saying take a safety earlier and the qb a round later. I like haefner in the 4th.

I think this draft will turn out to one of the best in recent years. And we do very well after in the UDFA scramble

This draft is kinda weak overall for the players being available. I don’t think any of the QBs drafted will amount to anything. Saints filled holes in roster and that’s what you’re supposed to do.

I can see why they feel good. This has been a solid draft for the Saints from what I can see. The DL holes have been plugged with guys who look like they can be studs quickly and we addressed RB and aoL while also getting an extremely u serrated QB because he’s below 6’ and not named Bryce Young. We got better today.

Here's hoping Winston and Haener have a great preseason. Winston would be a possible trade candidate with injuries around and Haener and Taysom are the backups. I think the chances are good that 4 of our 5 pics make the 53. In the above scenario 5 of 5.

Instant draft reactions are like a Rorschach test for a persons character.

And I gotta tell you man, I’ve never seen someone score higher on the “I’m a miserable human” meter than you.

You basically are the CJ stroud of “pleasant dude” scores. Minimum score being an 80. You around a 15.

I agree we are picking guys at all the right positions, but do you think the Saints are going to say anything but they got the guys they wanted? That’s just propaganda.

I also agree that all the talking heads don’t know nearly what the teams and their staffs know.

I suspect two or three guys we drafted work out very well. If more do if will be a super draft.

Should never have to write out a long explanation to explain your pick.

Anyone in the league could've signed Jameis.

What do you think the Saints would get for jameis off a decent pre-season performance?

You think a gm would say "damn jameis went 14-21 with 2 tds in the preseason. I think I'll give up a 4th for that guy." After seeing who he is for 6 years.
