Sums up the current Saints (and Pelicans) situation.

Everything needs to be scrubbed clean and start over.

I don’t know if we need to start over. I think it’s more that people don’t realize we have kinda started over and are expecting results quicker than they’re likely to happen.

I don’t think simply changing the coach would fix the saints. The pelicans started over and went backwards in progression. OP is right that there needs to be a fresh start and it starts with ownership.

The rebuild from all of that started last year when the Saints were able to get cap relief cutting Carr.

It was NEVER going to be a 1 year effort even with a 1 in 50 type of event (finding a QB in round 2).

The incompetence of the administration was always a threat to the success of the rebuild.

We are exactly where we were a month ago. You are right to be concerned. But the chances you have are based in stacking talent in the next 2-3 offseasons.

That’s literally all this is. Compared to having Drew, AK, Mike, Ram, Terron, Cam, Demario, Marshon. Our team doesn’t even come close to have that amount of talent. Just keep building.

The sad thing is that we an OL stacked with high picks and don’t have a good unit.

This is the key here and people need to not miss this. Every time you pick a certain position group in the first round, that means obviously, you aren't addressing any of the other groups. This means that whatever group you are investing that heavily in MUST be a premier unit in the league.

You've missed out on players Like McDuffie, Verse, Quinyon, Tyler Smith, Linderbaum etc and I get it, misses happen in the draft every year but damn man. You could have so much more talent across the team if you hit on your first rounders and it's okay if you don't pick those guys but you have a top 5 OL in football. You just flat don't. You've paid premium price for steak at chili's.

If anyone read the topic, I pointed out ownership, management (GM), and draft choices. I didn’t take a shot at the coach as this is his second year and has to deal with the lack of talent he inherited.

I agree 100%

New ownership - (hopefully Todd Graves or the Mannings)

....and a new dynamic GENERAL MANAGER that knows how to build a team and procure talent by any means necessary. I would back up the Brinks truck to pull Howie Roseman or Les Snead.

I don't want an accountant that doesn't know shite about the game and takes orders from the coach that is actually running the team.
