Poor guy should’ve never been head OC. He’s a great #2 and served us well in that role. He did improve play-calling in the second half of the season and work to remedy his errors. Wish him the best wherever he ends up.

Pete Carmichael was a valued member of the Saints staff for 18 years. In that time, he earned the respect of the entire football operation, including Drew Brees & Sean Payton. His tenure in NOLA didn't end the way he wanted, but that doesn't tarnish his outstanding body of work.

But this is a win for the org. Either we drastically improve, or we don’t and DA is out of excuses for sucking and gets fired after next season.

It’s his own fault for getting on board with a piece of shite like Allen. Should have saw the guy would throw him under under the bus when the heat got on.

The fact that he had to be fricking convinced to take the job tells you he wouldn’t be good at the job.

Thanks for being extremely conservative at the beginning of the season with your play calling and refusing to use some key pieces throughout the season costing the team a division title, and what appeared to have been a solid shot at another playoff win?

I don't blame the guy one bit. He didn't want the responsibility in the first place. That's on shitty management and a lack luster head coach for not pursuing others.

Pete sucked without Drew Brees at the helm.

1. Humility
2. Adaptation

He didn't get the memo. I imagine he has a winter vaca trip to Colorado any day now.

PC didn't want the job to begin with, but Loomis pressured him into it. Loomis wants as little change as possible to maintain his control on the top of this organization.

So, let me get this straight.

For a whole week all we have been hearing in this board is now awful an OC Pete Carmichel was. We've been hearing it here all year.

Now that he has been fired, none of it was his fault. He is a great coach who never should have taken the job in the first place because Dennis Allen used his force powers to force Pete to fail.

He knew how CSP liked his coffee. He assisted Brees during those imaginary bye week games by keeping track of the play clock and timeouts.

^ I present to you Exibit A of how sports fandom brings out the worst in people. A, by all accounts, stand up human being in real life just so happens to be a not so good football coach, and fans call him "a piece of shite."

I can't imagine being so miserable.

Is he though? I wouldn't hold my breath for this. Gayle and Mickey are too weak to get rid of Allen. I suspect we are stuck with him for his contract unfortunately.

He'll be here until they can get rid of Carr.
