Nice work today by the front office. Gives us a little money to work with after the three moves today.

I don’t really pay close attention to offensive line play, but I have always been told he’s actually a tremendous run blocker. He just can’t pass protect. Would y’all agree?

He’s made of glass and gets injured constantly. That’s his biggest problem.

I don't know about football compared to the pro's but what I see too often with Peat is...

I’m sure he’ll miss half the season

His play falls off a map with the smallest injury which is really strange. Armstead plays hurt and can still play elite. Peat gets a hang nail and forgets how to play OL.

Peat is extremely strong especially in the lower body so once he gets his hands on you it’s over. Sadly, he just seems to lack that “it” factor that OL need. He doesn’t have that nasty mean streak and he doesn’t play hurt. I was really hoping we could move on from him and maybe find a trade partner that would take him off our hands for a 7th round pick or something small but we are stuck with him. Just have to hope he stays healthy and motivated.

Peat is average. You are going to have to live with a couple average line man. The key to this move is the restructuring of the contract to open up cap space.

Peat is a road grading run blocker and at best an average pass blocker but his biggest strength is versatility. It is not easy to switch from guard to tackle but it's really difficult to switch from left side blocking to right side or the opposite and he has had to do that more than once. Versatility like that is highly valued on an NFL roster particularly with their limited roster numbers.

I thought NO should've moved on from Peat when his rookie contract expired

One of the worst contracts I’ve ever seen. Peat is just the worst. But the damage is already done with that contract. We’re stuck with him. Might as well free up some space for today.

Peat is average at best but we learned that Ruiz is just awful.

Year 3. Young player. I’m praying that he improves greatly. I’m expecting to see him start training camp at center too.

…so no more excuses for him. Put up or bust city.

Arrogant CSP at it again. Justified his drafting of dough boy, by re-signing him. Ok, I get he's versatile and such, but did any other team even come with an offer that made the Saints over-pay him? And Ruiz, geez I wonder if there was a certain position of need we could've easily filled with that 1st?

That contract is going to be a pain by the end of it.
