Same issue with Lattimore... He is great when he is full strength, but that seems to only be about half of the games he is in...

Lattimore has missed a total of 8 games in his now 5 year nfl career. He shows up and plays.

He came into the league having a reputation for being a guy who gets hurt and has hamstring issues but that simply hasn’t been the reality for his saints career.

We also don’t know if Turner is actually great when he plays at this point.

He was really good against Carolina.

Davenport taught him how to be a bitch

I guess for some people they can't differentiate a video game from real life. If anyone thinks these players are just taking a breather you don't have a clue. The pressure to be ready to play is enormous particularly at the pro level. In many cases the contracts are tied to performance markers that can't be reached if you are not on the field game day. Also the fear that the team will shite can you and find someone else for the spot is often there. To get where they are these players have to be obsessive in their approach. Do you actually believe Davenport deserves to be called a bitch?

Turner looked really good against the run.

chaw, we are big eye test guys, and much like Davenport, Turner passes the eye test. Even more importantly, the numbers jive with the eyes

Turner has only been on the field for 32 run plays, and he made a stop on 10 of them

On his 111 pass snaps, he got pressure on 10% of them

Small sample but we know these numbers are above average for NFL DE and especially a rookie. He will be good if he can stay healthy. These injures have been acute, nothing chronic. Buckle up

I think his trajectory will be much like davenport's.

Don't think his ceiling will be as high as davenport.

Hurt doesn't always mean out. He plays injured more than most.

Fans on this board have trashed Cam, Trey Hendrickson and Davenport over the years for not producing immediately.

I listened to a podcast with former All Pro DE Robert Mathis. He said it takes 3-4 years for a DE to become finished product. Says it’s one of the biggest learning curves from CFB to the NFL.

Cam Jordan had 1 sack, 2 TFL and 4 QB hits in 16 games his rookie year

Turner has 1 sack, 3 TFL and 3 QB hits in 5 games
Yeah, I mean I completely understand that. And that is a stark reminder when looking at production in far fewer games. But that is my frustration--the best ability and availability. It's not something I blame Turner over, nor the Saints. But it is just a frustrating fact that him not being on the field is pissing people off, for lack of a better term. It makes me look like a crybaby, but DAMMIT I WANTS MY DAMN SACKSESSES.

Ruiz has played 100% of the offensive snaps. He needs to continue to improve but he's no whiff

Maybe not a whiff, but not great. Would’ve preferred one of the great WRs taken afterwards. Queen was another great pick.

Imagine what Davenport could do if he would not take 1/3 of the season off each year
