Look none of us were excited, but it is what it is. Here’s a video to showcase his positives. Film study shows some good traits. Really good size, freakish arm length, high motor, with a 4.54 40 and sub 7 3 cone (6.7, that’s von Miller range)

Here’s some film from Tulane. You can see how violent and active his hands are, he is always fighting to get off blocks, doesn’t just “give up” after his first move, and you can really see his ridiculous athleticism for his size this game.

Last link. Small time interview he did before the draft. Mentioned he was basically a 3 tech DT before this year, Cam Jordan was mentioned as a guy he watched/studied a lot. Crazy thing is he also said he watches Marcus Davenport a lot . Again this is like a month before the draft. I have a feeling he’s going to be on the field in every pass rush situation we have. Whether it be at edge or 3 tech. You can see him switch between 3tech and 5tech and edge a lot throughout his different films on YouTube.

He still seems raw.

And I’m tired of seeing that attached to high end picks we normally take

He does have some violent hands like the guy above said.

Has some nice bend for his size. He really needs to work on his pass rushing moves though. Nielsen will help with that.

I do like his size. He will be able to move inside some.

Man look at him go against the all mighty green wave talent! This will foreshadow his results against NFL talent for sure, the Tulane line is littered with future Sunday OL talent.

No brainer

Right, because no smaller colleges or lesser talented conferences have ever produced any NFL stars. And every single SEC player is a pro bowler.

Haha....I missed the part where I said this never happens? You mine quoting that for me??

Now could you tell me if the Saints are going off produced results for this guy against top talent or projecting out to what he could (hope to) be....like a Marcus Davenport for example.

Thanks in advance for your future insight!!

It's both.

If you watch him play you can see he can move for his size.

He hustles and is 20 yards downfield making tackles.

This was his first year on the edge. That matters.

Every year, Saints find starters from small schools. Saints draft players from left field. Somehow Saints win division. Payton like pick. Turner will be good player.

He’s the typical DE it seems Saints like. Galette was kind of an outlier, (tweener type) we don’t actually typically go for. Saints like good size on both DEs and want them to be able to stop the run, which is why our run D is usually good most years. Actually Davenport is pretty damn good against the run, he just hasn’t put it together on sacks. If Turner can over the next 2-3 years turn into around a 10 sack a year guy and play the run very well it’s a good pick.

Will you please just pull for the Texans and not be a Saints fan? You have appeared in every damn post to say the same thing. I get it, you didn’t like the pick. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. Now STFU

Crazy to think he has only been playing end for two years...he has all the intangibles you look for in a DE.
