I'm having a hard time with this

What made Hill’s day even more fascinating, though, is that Fox broadcasters Troy Aikman and Joe Buck revealed that Payton has much, much bigger plans in store for the former BYU standout, who spent this summer with the Green Bay Packers before New Orleans claimed him off waivers in Week 1.

According to Aikman and Buck, Payton has told them in production meetings over the past three weeks that he envisions Hill as the future replacement for 38-year-old quarterback Drew Brees.

Buck said Payton’s exact words were that Brees’ heir is “in the building.”

“He not only likes Taysom Hill, he loves Taysom Hill. And their future quarterback is Taysom Hill,” Aikman said. “We’ve had [Saints games] in two of the past three weeks, and in our production meetings we’ve spent more time talking about Taysom Hill than anybody else on this roster. Sean Payton absolutely loves him. And this week when he said he was gonna be on special teams, I couldn’t believe it.”

So the guy we have heard nothing about all year who was just signed off the practice squad to play special teams is all of the sudden the heir apparent?

OK Sean.

Interesting...I mean, I trust Payton if this is the case. Dude looks like an athletic freak.

We need to design/run some read option packages with him in the Superbowl. It's not going to be easy beating the Pats.

I won't believe it until I see him throw the ball.
Can't wait for preseason next year to see him play some at QB.
I don't know if he can make all the throws or not?

I 100% agree. He looked good this year in the preseason against scrubs and practice squad players. I wonder how he would fair against real defenses.

I mean, Green Bay was pretty big on him in the preseason but couldn't justify keeping him on the roster, so we scooped him up. With the addition of Daniel I guess there was no reason for us to keep him on the active roster either. So I'm sure there's SOME validity behind this. Just need to see him in action.

I'll be honest, I'm tired of the yearly "are we getting Brees' eventual replacement" routine.

He did a damn fine job on special teams. I think it's pretty awesome even as a QB he wanted to get on the field and go cover damn kickoffs. I mean, who does that?

Somebody needs to go make a gif of Sean's smirk when Hill came off the field after that first tackle. Priceless.
