yes.
more fuel added to the snooty wife conspiracy.

I know his son goes to our Lady Queen of Peace in Mandeville, they seemed to have really liked it here. This is an odd turn of events. Smells like Jerry Jones has his smelly-arse hands all over this.

Typical New Orleans over-reaction when they realize they aren't the center of the universe. Get a grip. He basically lived on the Southshore during the season, rarely seeing his family, anyway. I'm sure they missed some friends in Dallas and the fact that they bought a house full of Chinese drywall didn't exactly help endear them to the place. You think this is any different than any NFL star? I don't hear people in Indy or NYC complaining about how little time the Mannings spend in those cities, and I didn't hear Packers fan whining about how Favre's family didn't spend all that time up there.
I guess y'all can try to get the City Council to pass another resolution opposing his move and ordering him to send his kids to SUNO.

This thread alone will keep me off Saints Talk for a few days. Thanks Chad for stirring the freaking pot about nothing.

Chad.....Your wife is a count. Your kid is ugly.
No offense and I'm not attacking you.

frick Sean Payton. He can go suck Jerry Jones dick while he is down in Dallas. That is a very weasel move by him. Get Gruden down here quick. We can't win with a guy who is not committed to the city.

If the Saints have a bad year, this will be brought up as a straw stacked on the camels back. Do any other NFL coaches live in a different state than the coach in? And I agree that the travel, loss of family during the season, etc., will probably take a toll.
While it's not a huge deal, it isn't a good sign for the future.

I'd rather the 90 minutes of travel to/from dallas than driving across the causeway everyday too...
Or did they piss off the wrong guard at the Sanctuary?

Just a little tidbit on the community he's moving to:

I'd gladly move there. That place is amazing

No matter how you look at it, this isn't good. A huge part of what made the Saints so special in 2009 was how much they represented the city and the bond between the city/region and the coaches/team. I get that its a business and his family wants the best life possible for them, but this move definitely frays the bond between the region and Payton.
I just couldn't see him saying all that he said last year while his family was living in Dallas and he commuted via private plane. Not liking this at all.
just got home from work and haven't read through the thread yet but this pretty much summarizes my feelings exactly

This whole thing is probably getting blown up too big. Instead of trying to reason it out the best thing to do is let it play out. If Payton wants to commute by jet instead of car so be it.

It has been mentioned several times already, he is not going to fly back and forth every day.
He is keeping his northshore home or will buy another one to stay in during the season.

I know most of y'all fly private jets all the time but the 5-10 times a year I do it it's really nice. Show up no waiting just go. I could do it every day
