That was just good football.
Great throw and a great job by the defender to punch it out.
I do agree in general though. If olave wants to be a true number 1 he has to start bailing some of those plays out.

Dude, the ball was well defended and the defender got a hand on the ball to push it out. Be reasonable

It’s not Olave’s forte for sure. He doesn’t have strong hands and rarely if ever makes contested catches. He has to be open with no contact to make catches.

Vele is not as quick or fast as Olave, but I bet he makes that catch.

Maybe not, but we can be reasonably sure considering some of the catches he has already made. More contested than Olave has made in his career.
