Hill is vastly overpaid and old. Why do you want to extend him?

Hill's upcoming cap hits:

2024: $15.8M
2025: $15.8M
2026: $5.3M (void year)

You think Hill is worth $18.5M/year?

like Mathieu, Hill, Carr,

Carr will be our QB for the next 2-3 seasons minimum, get used to it. Hill is an extremely valuable player—he needs a new deal.

Mathieu is the only questionable football one, but he will probably stick around for vet presence ala Cam Jordan

If they used him more maybe.
But they seldom have. So he does make too much but that seems to be the way this team operates.

Get used to being mediocre for the next 2-3 seasons as well. At best he makes the wild card round and loses.

Carr isn’t the problem with this team. O-line, run game, Gruden not being the coach yet are our biggest concerns

Look Carr played well in the last 4-5 games. But he was a big part of the problem as well especially early in the season and even in the middle of it. I don’t think Carr gets a pass here- now if he consistently shows he can play like he did the last month, we’ll see but to me thats just a gamble.

Why wouldn’t he get a pass for having a bum shoulder and broken ribs in two or three separate games?

Health improved, line play improved - he showed more than enough to be confident in us to win big games going forward

Hill is way overpaid and going to be 35. He should be cut. They hardly used him at all the last 5 weeks (when the Saints went 4-1).

We are stuck with Carr for next year, so drafting a QB is not a need. We need to draft a couple of tackles, and either draft DT or address in FA. There are a ton of mid-tiers DTs available.

What'll be interesting is if a guy like Coleman or Bowers drops to us. Do you take them and add weapons?

What do we do with Kamara, Latt, Ram (assuming he is done), Peat. Hopefully we clean house on offensive side and hire an O line coach that can work with Penning. Pretty much he was a consensus first rounder coming out. Kiper said he would be a better right tackle or guard. He is 24 so hopefully he can turn into something good. We really need a left tackle.

Re sign Peat and Davis and cut the rest. Johnson is still under contract so let it ride. Draft another OT to play left or right and try Penning at LG

I think 34, but yes. He's under contract until he's like 36. Are we going to extend him through his 38 year old year?

Hill is about to have the cap impact of an elite WR, DE, DT, OL, or DB (using franchise tags) as he turns 34

Hill avg total yards per game this year was 44 ypg I think.

I think last year was about the same.
