Watching Saunders get pushed back 5 yards by 1 o linemen doesn’t give me feel goods being a 3-4 NT

Wrong thread, sorry

My eyes wigged out, I was replying to a poster not a different thread. Damn

A lot of our front 7 personnel are free agents or need to be replaced so I don’t think it matters.

Cam and Fosky are to slow to play 4-3 ends now anyway. Breese can play one end, will have to draft a beefier NT and some tweener Olbs which this draft has plenty of.

I, and many others, have been commenting about 2027 being the year for this roster to be completely rebuilt because the cap should shake out by then (assuming no bone headed signings the next 2 years) and there are only 12 players under contract in 2027. The 6 on defense are:
Granderson, Werner, McKinstry, Fluellen (S), Ford & Boyd

So while we may not have the ideal roster for Staley's preferred defense, if given time and the resources, he should be able to compile the right players over the next 2 years.

I want Isaac Yiadom back. Maybe even over Adebo.

Gray FS: Tyrann Mathieu/Jordan

Looking at that, definitely need to draft an outside backer that can put heat on the qb and a NT early.

We don’t know this. He was a dc for one season.

In that season he had Aaron Donald and prime Jaylen Ramsey. He could be great and he could be below average. All you can really say is he was NOT successful as a HC and had one great year as a DC that caused the chargers to over hire.

flash in the pan one good season with a loaded roster on the rams. defenses were bad with the chargers and niners were happy to see him go too. they obviously didn't trust him to take over their D and went and got Saleh instead.

I don't think he'll be good. willing to eat my words if he is. we currently don't have the personnel to match his scheme.

I hate Schefter... all of the reports on ESPN are "BREAKING NEWS.. Per Adam Schefter". I don't give AF who breaks the news... just give me the news!

Year before he got there the Rams were 17th in total defense under Wade Phillips

Year after he left they were 15th under Raheem Morris

How do you explain the Rams being 1st under Staley?

Multi-year rebuild for the defense. They had a good run from 2017-onward. Wheels fell off last season.

Is Cam where he is now a better fit in 3-4 3-3 or worse?

Correct assessment. IMO Staley will be the first staffer that Moore fires (likely in 2026).

Just my opinion but I don't think Cam's a good fit for a 3-4. He doesn't have the burst to play the edge rusher anymore and his run support this season was bad.

Breese and Granderson look to be pretty good fits tho.
