The Saints don`t need anyone associated with the ML,SP, regime.
Hire Mike Vrable and don`t look back.We need his toughness and discipline.

Surprised that no one has mentioned Todd Monken (OC of the Ravens). Had success as OC at Bucs and Ravens. Won titles at Georgia as OC.
Another option would be Matt Lefleur’s OC. Lefleur has won consistently at Green Bay with multiple QB’s.
I def want an Offensive coach. Seems easier to build a successful team when the head coach is offensive.

How is slowik ready but Aaron Glenn isn't?

The problem with Flores is that if you hire him, you literally cannot fire him without the longest leash possible, or you're getting sued and called every name in the book on national TV, and you can't hire certain HCs after firing him or you strengthen his lawsuit.
Not true
The owner tried to bribe him to lose games.
Flores is a great coach.

People have hired away a couple coaches under him and they've all flopped.

What does that even mean
Fans love to harp on these intangible things like “culture”
You know what would drive good culture bunch? Winning games.
And what does that start with? Pairing a good offensive coach with a good QB
If you lose your culture will never be good, ever
This just isn't true. Dan Campbell built a great culture when they were losing.

The lions are good because they’ve drafted well and Ben Johnson has made Jared Goff look like John elway
The cowboys have also drafted well.

To all of those "what is culture" people out there, it is easy to explain but hard to implement. A guy like Vrabel did what Cambell did in Detroit. He went into a losing franchise with a shite roster, held all of his players to a standard and instilled an identity into his team. You know when you played the Titans, you were in for a tough, physical game. His players were bought into his message, which led to team unity.
With DA, you saw the complete opposite. He took over a winning franchise with a good enough roster, and did nothing to hold his players to a standard and we never had an identity as a team. During his time, were we a defensive team? A smashmouth team? A high flying team? I would argue the only identity that we had was that we constantly made mistakes down the stretch costing us games. At the end of his tenure, it was obvious that his players did not buy into his message and there was no team unity.

It does not matter until we get competent President, to hire a General MGR, to hire a great coach to hire a great coaching staff and scouting department. This is another reason Sean Payton is not here.

Payton quit because he’s a quitter

Chalky, post Dan campbell’s record as HC without vs with Ben Johnson and ask what was better for the culture
No one cares what your culture is if you are a loser

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with LE
Zac Taylor has installed good culture in Cincy. Yet things are souring there because you still need stud players or coaches that can elevate players through scheme
I would prefer an offensive coach but I want a young guy who is sharp, and excels at one side of the ball.
Guys like McVay, Shanahan, Sean Payton, etc. are the system. You don't have to worry about assistant coaches bolting for other head jobs because the head guy is that much more important than everyone else.

Vrabel was put into a great position with a roster that had the best players in the division with no good QBs
And in the end, having no QB was his downfall. It will always checkmate culture

Aaron Glenn is the clear front runner to me, for a number of reasons. The Lions defensive coordinator was strongly considered as a candidate back when the Saints chose to hire Allen in 2022. He has familiarity and wide respect throughout the building after working on Sean Payton’s staff in New Orleans from 2016-2020. And yet he also feels like he could bring an outside perspective at the same time, coming from one of the most successful franchises in the NFL today that recently underwent the type of extreme refresh that the Saints need.

Not really. They've drafted stars well but they're very top heavy as a team.
ETA: Based on much of the thread, it won't be Glenn. Even if they wanted to connect back to Payton, Glenn's too tied to Dennis Allen.
