It's a great take.

A 2024 conditional 5th and only 5 mil in salary.

Seems like rhule wants to run the ball, play defense, and hit the play action.

That panthers d is legit. Still not worried about them in the slightest. Rhule will leave some nice pieces for whoever the next coach is.

All they could get is a 5th? That train wreck must be worse than I thought. What did Watson pull, like 3 firsts and 6 picks total?

Can anyone explain to me why a 5th would need to be conditional? I'm assuming that pertains to where it landed in that round. But what does it matter in the 5th?

ETA taken from an Athletic article

quote:

Only a fifth-rounder? NFL math, folks. Return reflects leverage, and Cleveland had none. They couldn’t pay a backup QB around $15 million, so Mayfield is out, and they eat some money. (See: Osweiler, Brock.) The return can become a fourth-rounder if Mayfield plays a lot.

Because it's a 2024 draft pick, I assumed that it depends on number of games played/started, stats, and whether or not he's resigned and for how long

Baker is an improvement.

As a person who has a soft part in my heart for the Browns and watch the them just as much as the Saints, no he is not Saints D is gonna eat! The problem with Baker is he doesn't realize his limitations and thinks he's better than he is.

Now add in the fact that he thinks he has something to prove. You think Winston's 30 interception season was bad, get ready!!

I always enjoy seeing a struggling player go to a new team and have a resurgence and succeed; but like you I just don't see it. He was putting up good numbers, but was also struggling in an offense with Chubb, Hunt, Landry, OBJ, Peoples-Jones, Hooper, Njoku, and one of the better O-lines. I just don't see how he will improve going from that to McCaffrey (assumign he stays healthy), DJ Moore, Anderson, Marshall, Tremble and an o-line ranked towards the bottom.

as i understand it, if he plays lights out and wins a lot of games for them it changes to 4th or even as good as a 3rd round pick if he meerts the incentives in the deal.

the worst they lose is a 5th if he sucks
