I think Logan would be great for early down role if he didn’t cost a ton. Wouldn’t want to give big contract to though.

Could you please give me a few hours to get over Suh first? Can't really think about this right now.

I mean there isn't much worth a shite out there really, Logan maybe but he's just a run stuffer, we're basically better off with Davison... or Hankins I guess

Would love Jordan Matthews but why wouldn't we have even shown interest yet if we were into it

A run stuffer at NT is all we really need. We should be identifying a guy who can free up Rankins.

These seem like the best bets imo.

WR - Jordan Mathews, Kendall Wright, Jeremy Maclin, Eric Decker, Brice Butler, Dontrelle Inman

DT - Johnathan Hankins, Bennie Logan

DE - Connor Barwin, Kony Ealy, Robert Ayers

Hankins and Ayers would really make our line elite. It’s probably Suh like money, but we would have crazy depth. Ayers created plenty of pressure last year, and Hankins had some success rushing and was real effective against the run.

Hankins actually seems like a good fit. Supposedly he fell off with the giants when snacks came, forcing him from 1T to 3T. He could man the 1T with rank playing 3T. Last year he was a NT or 3/4 end for the colts. Plus he would be with his OSU brethren on the defense.

Both Ayers and Hankins were PFF positional leaders.

Matthews seems like a good option, he fell off with the buffalo, but that’s the land of WR death.

I dunno, just spit ballin.

Can I ask why we think Robert Ayers is going to do anything for us?

He will be 33 at the start of the season, started most of the games for Tampa the last 2 years and barely had any sack production. They were last in the NFL last season in sacks. He was cut because he sucks.

I'd take him for a tiny little contract to see if he has a little left as a backup, otherwise no thanks.

Ayers started 10 games last year and played in 12. He was bad last year, but the four previous years he has averaged over 6.5 sacks. We need some help at DE if Okafor isn’t 100% and we’re not getting anyone good at #27. Get him cheap as an insurance for Okafor.

Do you guys think that our DL coach could help him w/ pass rush skills, or is he just skrude?

I'd LOVE Robert Ayers, he'd be an upgrade over Okafor (even if only slightly) 89.3 grade on PFF for what its worth. Plus it could be insurance for Okafor's achilles.

Ayers made I think $6 mil/yr with Tampa and we spent $10 mil/2yr on Okafor. I assume he'd command $4-6 mil/yr which would be a lot of money between the 2 but it would sure up the DE position.

It would make WR, TE, and DT the clear-cut priorities in the draft. Trade the 1st rounder for a 2nd & 3rd/2 late 2nds/2 early 3rds/early 2nd & a 4th and you fill the need at WR, TE, & DT before the end of day 2. Target an OL & RB on Day 3.

Next Step: Atlanta Feb 3rd
