So he gives up his dream to become a judge to represent a killer. It's laughable to think he had aspirations to becone a judge full time. This case Wil make him a household name in the coming trial

Is he running for the seat? It seems he would if he wanted to become one.

Maybe he will, but I've been unable to find anything that says so.

I read that he always wanted to be a judge and also that the other side wants him to become a judge because he has been so successful against them. thats why he got the temp position.

This seems to be a popular sentiment with the pro Hayes crowd, but if his dream is to be a judge he has a strange way of showing it.

Well... He turned down a temporary judgeship. He is apparently not pursuing an elected seat. He has a successful defense firm with a vested law partner. He seems to have a reputation for cantankerousness with judges according to people I've talked to.

I'm just drawing conclusions here. If you've seen something counter to this I'd love to read it.

I just don't buy the silly idea that he's giving up his life's dream to free this wrongly accused man. It reads like a bad Tyler Perry movie.

This and he alienated the entire criminal justice system by grandstanding and requesting nips recuse themselves. Good luck with judgeship now.

Source: NOPD investigating claims Will Smith may have fired first
quote:

Did Will Smith pull out his gun and fire it before he was killed? Cops are looking very seriously now into some witness reports and allegations that the former Saints player retrieved a gun from his car before he was shot and killed in a confrontation with another driver. A source close to the investigation tells WWL First News that detectives are working to determine definitively if allegations are true that Smith not only got his gun out of his car, but fired at least one shot. The defense attorney for Cardell Hayes has suggested that his client did not shoot Smith's wife, Racquel. He indicated that ballistics testing would prove that the wounds to her legs were not from his client's bullets. The source tells WWL First News that detectives are investigating if it was actually Smith who accidentally shot his wife as she intervened to try and stop the confrontation.

NOPD said in a news release that Smith did have a gun in his car, but no bullet casings were found and no ballistic evidence was recovered to show that his weapon was fired during the incident.

Now the source tells WWL First News that investigators are examining allegations that evidence of the gun having been fired may have been hidden.

What a bizarre case.

Just heard this on the radio. Exactly why the facts need to come out before you convict Hayes

Kinda always wondered about this.

Smith had a 9 and Hayes had a .45.
just kinda wondered about the wounds to Mrs. Smith.

I also have no problem believing that NOPD tampered with or bungled the investigation.

None of it does...

A guy is so angry at another guy he shoots a woman before/after shooting the guy he is actually angry with?

Both sides making statements that should be easy to prove or disprove?

Terrible.
